Officials were searching for a runaway bull in southern Massachusets early Monday after a herd of the animals jumped a fence at a rodeo event a day earlier. “Community members should exercise extreme caution and not approach the bull if found. The animals escaped their pens, ran through the parking lot and jumped over the fence, before fleeing south towards nearby woods, according to Coleman. One bull was caught just after fleeing, and six were corralled some three miles away by local police and firefighters, along with environmental police, workers from the rodeo and staff from the New England Rodeo in nearby Norton, Coleman said. No injuries were reported but the rodeo, which was being held at a mall, was under investigation, he added.

(AP) — Hurricane Lee looks poised to wallop New England later this week even as the region still deals with the impact of days of wild weather that produced torrential rain, flooding, sinkholes and a likely tornado. NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass.—The only mall in this former manufacturing town recently sold for a fraction of its value only a decade earlier, another sign that regional malls are sitting out a broader recovery in retail real estate. The previous owner of Emerald Square Mall, which spans 1 million square feet and features stores such as Victoria’s Secret and Macy’s , defaulted on $94.5 million of debt in mid-2020. That marked the largest loss recorded on a loan securitized in the last dozen years, according to Moody’s Investors Service .
