CNN —Hollywood actor Steve Buscemi has been treated for injuries after being punched in the face while walking in New York City. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) told CNN it is investigating the assault, which took place on Wednesday and is the latest in a string of random attacks in the city. Last month, CNN spoke to half a dozen women who said they were hit in the face out of nowhere while on the streets of New York City. “He is ok and appreciates everyone’s well wishes, though incredibly sad for everyone that this has happened to while also walking the streets of NY,” the statement said. “Upon arrival, officers were informed a 66-year-old male was punched in the face by an unidentified individual,” the police statement said.

On the menu at New York City’s 11 public hospitals is pasta with Bolognese sauce, without the meat. NYC Health + Hospitals, the country’s largest municipal health system, has made plant-based food the default for inpatient meals. That means the food contains no meat, dairy or eggs. Now, a year after it made those sweeping changes, the hospital system has reduced its food-related carbon emissions by 36 percent, according to the mayor’s office. And, jokes about hospital food aside, the changes seem to be a hit with patients.

It will play out and reverberate for years or decades, Hagen told me. “The pathological normal,” Hagen calls it: a patchwork of homespun, bespoke realities, each one invested in a different story about what exactly happened when Covid ruptured the story of our lives. garb.”More than once, life seemed to be attaining “an uncanny resemblance to normal life,” as one man put it. But because we don’t totally understand where that experience has delivered us, we don’t know the right gloss to give it. “The days are strange,” one public-school teacher told Milstein toward the end of his first interview, in May 2020.
Former “Saturday Night Live” star Chris Redd is publicly detailing his experience being attacked last month outside a famed New York City comedy club where he was scheduled to perform. I thought it was brass knuckles because it cut my nose to the bone," Redd said on "The Last Laugh." After being hit, Redd briefly fell to the ground before jumping back to his feet, he said: "He hit me, he was gone, I was gushing blood so I couldn't look around." Now, he's preparing to make the assault part of his next set, he said: "I got some jokes, for sure," Redd said. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket; blue shirt; black pants; black, gray and white sneakers; a multi-color fedora hat; and a black face mask.
