In one of the most anticipated and surely one of the most exuberant moments of Oscar night, Ryan Gosling took the stage to perform “I’m Just Ken,” the nominated song from “Barbie” by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. Wearing a sparkling pink suit and a cowboy hat, Gosling started out in the audience serenading his “Barbie” co-star Margot Robbie, who couldn’t contain her giggles. He then took the stage surrounded by an army of besuited Ken dancers, including fellow movie Kens Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Ncuti Gatwa and Scott Evans. Mark Ronson joined him onstage but Slash of Guns N’ Roses did the true shredding, showing up midway through for a cameo. His early routines, including one in which he wears “Hammer pants,” have received tens of millions of views online.

CNN —In the music world, old grudges die hard, especially when it comes to devoted fans of a specific artist. On Friday, Britney Spears’ 2011 song “Selfish” – off her seventh album “Femme Fatale” from that year – reached no. 1 on the US iTunes chart, topping a new song of the same name from her former boyfriend Justin Timberlake, who dropped his “Selfish” track just the day before. On Saturday, Spears’ song was still holding steady at the no. “To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life,” she added in her book.

A (RELATIVELY) QUIET PLACE In the living room, a neutral backdrop balances out bolder furnishings that weave in hues from surrounding rooms. Photo: Laura Resen, Styled by Yedda MorrisonIN SAN DIEGO, sunshine infuses homes so often—some 266 days a year, on average—that aggressively colorful interiors can easily come off as garish. What if you yearn for a fun, vivid look, but don’t want to live in the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse? To create colorful zones that played well together but never veered into “elementary school” vibes, Maggio took cues from European interiors that feature gutsy but slightly muted Old World hues. “The colors she was drawn to all had a relative softness to them,” Maggio said.

A news release from Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, announcing the sales numbers quoted Spears as saying, “I poured my heart and soul into my memoir, and I am grateful to my fans and readers around the world for their unwavering support.”(Published figures put the price tag for Spears’s memoir between $12.5 million and $15 million.) The book is Spears’s first full account of her 13 years under a conservatorship, which her father, James P. Spears, was granted in 2008 amid a custody battle and Britney Spears’s series of public struggles. In the memoir, Spears describes an adulthood in which security personnel dispensed her medications and put parental controls on her iPhone. Kristen McLean, an industry analyst for Circana BookScan, which tracks book sales numbers, said on Wednesday that Spears’s memoir seemed as though it had a good chance of surpassing one million in print sales in the United States this year. Only one adult nonfiction title — Prince Harry’s “Spare” — has reached that height so far.

She recalls her childhood growing up with parents that she would later blame for exerting too much control over her life, telling a story about how her mother, Lynne Spears, would let her drink cocktails as an eighth grader. “Shaving my head and acting out were my ways of pushing back. But under the conservatorship I was made to understand that those days were now over. I had to grow my hair out and get back into shape. Her father has long maintained that the conservatorship had always been intended to protect his daughter from exploitation.
