I knew if I wanted to travel with my kids, I would have to find a way to do it on my own. I've been traveling solo with my kids for more than 15 years and have a system that works. Women's sweaters can be more expensive than men's sweaters. Brands often add synthetic fibers to women's sweaters to make them less expensive. For example, while browsing Nordstrom's site she noticed a women's sweater and a men's sweater from the same brand priced at $170. Business Insider spoke to experts to understand why women's sweaters can be more expensive than men's sweaters. For example, men's wool sweaters had an average tariff rate of 13.6%, while women's wool sweaters had an average tariff rate of 14.9%.

A surprising crash in prices for lithium, cobalt and other metals used in EV batteries is hitting mining companies, which are suspending or delaying new projects and expansions. “There is an unspoken pressure on nailing the perfect gift,” says Kristin Fisher, the Collegeville, Penn.-based founder of custom gift box company Bocu. Leah Inman, a Dallas-based gifting consultant, recommends ordering a custom house portrait for mothers-in-law, in particular. They likely already know about red light therapy, so this petite wand makes the perfect gift, according to Fisher. That’s why he recommends gift cards, such as one from Massage Envy, which has more than 1,100 locations in the U.S. and offers both massage and facials, as well as stretch therapy. Inman recommends gifting this compact jewelry organizer for your jetsetting sister- or mother-in-law.

Real Sociedad outclass Benfica 3-1 to edge closer to last 16

Nov 8 (Reuters) - Real Sociedad edged closer to a place in the knockout stage of the Champions League with a comfortable 3-1 win over Benfica in Group D on Wednesday which ended the Portuguese side's faint hopes of reaching the last 16. It was Sociedad's third consecutive Champions League win but their first at home in 20 years as they provisionally took top spot in Group D on 10 points with two games remaining. Real Sociedad and Inter will qualify for the last 16 if the Italian side beat the Austrian team later on Wednesday. The match was stopped briefly halfway through the second half after flares were thrown by Benfica supporters. Earlier on Wednesday, three fans were arrested after violent clashes between supporters of both teams, the Basque Country police confirmed.

A SHEEP IN COTTON CLOTHING: OK, this illustration actually shows a cashmere goat, but he’s comfortably clad in a cotton crewneck. She replaced her namesake line’s merino-wool-blend sweaters with cotton knits, which she now sells year-round—even in winter. The 100% cotton styles range from a cold-weather cable-knit turtleneck to a four-seasons-friendly striped option. “And nobody has said, ‘I miss the merino.’”Most people view cotton sweaters, unfairly, as summer-only options. But if you pick the right ones, cotton knits can hold their own in cooler months.

The marketing failure that's going to kill us all

A good example of bad climate marketing comes from the Irish budget airline Ryanair. Carbon offsets involve contributing money to a project that will help avoid, reduce, or remove carbon emissions from the atmosphere, such as planting trees or building wind farms. Some of the most successful corporate efforts at climate marketing place more emphasis on consumers' personal concerns. According to the International Energy Agency, global carbon emissions reached a record high last year. The more you focus on what everyday people care about, Berger said, the more effective your marketing campaign will be.

In the past year, clothing retailers have sought to clear excess stock that had piled up due to a shift in consumer demand to essentials from discretionary items like clothing. But with fourth-quarter temperatures expected to start off warm, according to weather tracking firm Weather Trends International, stores carrying winter styles and gear could find themselves loaded with inventory at the end of the season. European company Pepco Group (PCOP.WA) also noted that the landing of its autumn and winter clothing inventory had coincided with persistent record-warm weather in its core Central and Eastern European markets. In the United States, temperatures could rise by 2 to 12 degrees Fahrenheit on average in the October-December period compared with last year, according to Weather Trends International. Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF.N) also said there was strong demand for "seasonless products" in the second quarter, particularly in the men's category, as customers picked out year-round clothing items and styles.

CNN —The Chilean football federation (ANFP) has been criticized for its handling of a star player’s 100th appearance for the women’s national team. A pilot for Latam, the Chilean airline, died on Monday after suffering a health emergency on a flight from Miami to Santiago, Chile, that forced the plane to make an emergency landing in Panama, the airline said. The pilot was part of a three-member crew aboard the flight from Miami International Airport to Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Santiago, Latam said in a statement on Wednesday. The airline, which is based in Santiago, did not disclose the pilot’s name or the nature of the health problem, but said it was “thankful for his 25 years of service” to the airline. “Latam Group is deeply saddened by this event and takes this opportunity to express our most sincere condolences to the family of our employee,” the company said, adding that the pilot was “distinguished by his dedication, professionalism and enthusiasm.”According to FlightAware, a flight-data tracker, the Latam flight, which typically takes roughly eight hours, took off from Miami at 9:41 p.m. Three hours later, the plane, a Boeing 787, made a quick descent, dropping nearly 30,000 feet in 10 minutes before landing at Tocumen International Airport in Panama City.
