"The medic that I spoke to said they need more armored cars," Haring said.
The reason Ukrainian medics may enjoy some respite in the winter is they can transport people from the battlefield using the cover of darkness.
Additionally, Harding said, there's "a need for tourniquets," without which injured soldiers would bleed out in armored vehicles.
About 70,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed since Russia launched its full-scale invasion, according to a US estimate reported by The New York Times in August; between 100,000 and 120,000 have also been wounded.
