Jerusalem CNN —At least one person was killed and seven others injured on Thursday in a highway shooting in the occupied West Bank on the outskirts of Jerusalem, according to authorities. Two of the injured remain in serious condition, the Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency and medical service said. The shooting took place near the Israeli settlement of Ma’ale Adumim, according to a separate statement issued by the police spokesperson’s unit. CNN —Doctors and medical officials in southern Gaza say Israeli snipers have shot dead a number of people as they tried to leave the Nasser Medical Complex in recent days. A trauma surgeon at the hospital told CNN he saw at least two people killed by snipers on Tuesday, with more shot and injured. The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza also said Israeli sniper fire had killed civilians on Tuesday and said a further seven people were shot dead by Israeli snipers on Monday. Early in the war, the Israeli military designated Khan Younis as a safer zone and told residents from northern Gaza to seek shelter there. “The situation is catastrophic and very disturbing in the Nasser Medical Complex, and there is a state of panic among those present there,” he said.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A car crashed into a Texas hospital’s emergency room on Tuesday, killing one person and injuring at least 10 others, authorities said. The car smashed into the ER at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center shortly after 5:30 p.m., Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services said in a Facebook post. At least one person is dead, Austin police Detective Carey Chaudoir told the Austin American-Statesman. The crash appeared to be unintentional, authorities said. CNN —One person has died and at least five people were injured as a vehicle crashed into an Austin medical center emergency room Tuesday evening, according to the facility’s chief medical officer. Christa Stedman of the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services said the child in critical condition had life-threatening injuries while the adult’s injuries were potentially life threatening. One patient was admitted to St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, where the crash occurred in the ER lobby, Chief Medical Officer Peter DeYoung said. Eight patients who were at the hospital and not injured in the vehicle crash were also being transferred to other hospitals, DeYoung said. Moments later, Hughes realized a vehicle had crashed into the emergency room.
