The company had earlier said that Tesla had the capacity to make more than 125,000 Cybertrucks annually, with Musk adding there was potential to lift it to 250,000 in 2025. On the "Joe Rogan Experience" podcast released Tuesday, Musk reiterated how hard it was to produce the Cybertruck. "We're aiming to make about 200,000 a year at point production ... maybe a little more, but I just can't emphasize enough that manufacturing is much much harder than the initial design," Musk said about the futuristic-looking Cybertruck.

The Cybertruck is expected to challenge Rivian's (RIVN.O) R1T, Ford's (F.N) F-150 Lightning and General Motors' (GM.N) Chevrolet Silverado EV in the hot market for electric pickup trucks. Musk said he wanted "temper expectations" for the truck, adding the company could face "enormous challenges" in ramping up production and making it cash-flow positive. "But I think that they're giving us an indication of the capacity they're going to make available for the Cybertruck as production ramps up."

Shares of Rivian Automotive were sharply lower in early trading Thursday, after the company surprised investors with a plan to offer $1.5 billion in convertible notes. It also provided a preliminary estimate of its third-quarter revenue that was in line with Wall Street estimates. Rivian plans to offer $1.5 billion worth of senior, unsecured "green" convertible notes due in 2030. Buyers will have the option to purchase up to an additional $225 million worth of notes, the company said. Rivian on Monday reported third-quarter deliveries that were better than Wall Street had expected.

The complaint also alleges that managers failed to hire or promote qualified Black employees and gave preferential treatment to Hispanic workers. The plaintiffs allege that store managers said Hispanic people work harder than African Americans and called Black employees lazy. The lawsuit claims managers sexually harassed female workers, making sexual comments and touching them inappropriately. The Fire Department worries about low water pressure when hydrants are open, a potentially serious problem when a call comes in and fire trucks go out. Sprinkler caps, which firehouses can make available on request, cut the flow to 25 to 30 gallons a minute, by Kelly’s calculations. Splash Spots send out about half that, and unlike the Fire Department’s sprinkler caps, they can be turned on and off, saving even more when a sprinkler is not needed. “I was out for a run over the July 4 weekend, and I passed a street with a hydrant with a spray cap,” Gordon said.

Shares of Rivian Automotive jumped more than 16% in early trading Monday after the electric vehicle maker beat Wall Street expectations for quarterly deliveries. Rivian on Monday reported 12,640 vehicle deliveries during the second quarter, up 59% from the previous quarter and topping analyst expectations of 11,000 vehicles, according to estimates compiled by FactSet. Rivian produced roughly 23,400 vehicles through the second quarter, including electric delivery vans and consumer models.
