The Court of Arbitration for Sport on Monday rejected USA Gymnastics’ request to reopen the case into the Olympic gymnastics women’s floor exercise scoring, one day after the International Olympic Committee said Jordan Chiles’ bronze medal would be reallocated to Ana Bărbosu of Romania. AdvertisementThat led the International Gymnastics Federation to amend its floor exercise standings, dropping Chiles to fifth, and prompted the IOC to adjust its medals accordingly. USA Gymnastics, however, said Sunday it received video evidence showing the coach, Cecile Landi made the appeal 47 seconds after Chiles’ score was posted — 13 seconds within the window — and it submitted the evidence to CAS for review. But Landi submitted an inquiry to challenge the difficulty score of Chiles’ routine. Its ruling invalidated Chiles’ score.

She led the individual all-around competition after qualifying and enters as a heavy favorite to capture her sixth gold medal. McIntosh, 17, won her first Olympic gold medal Monday in the grueling women’s 400-meter individual medley. Marchand, 22, has won gold in all three of his events in Paris, with the 200-meter individual medley remaining.

Organizers for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics plan to hold swimming in the home of the NFL’s Rams and Chargers — and softball and canoe slalom in Oklahoma. That’s according to an amended venue plan unveiled Friday by LA28, the 2028 Games’ organizing committee. It will be the largest swimming venue in Games history, per LA28, with 38,000 seats. LA28 organizers faced one complication with the SoFi swimming plan, however: The stadium is also set to be part of the Games’ opening ceremonies. The venue plan adjustments are in part due to new arenas that have become available for use and a previously assigned venue that became unavailable, LA28 said.
