I reported him and then I just tried to follow the justice and what they told me to do,” Battilana Gutierrez told CNN in a recent interview. Battilana Gutierrez says she sees chilling parallels between the alleged conspiracy surrounding a hush-money payment connected to Trump and what happened to her. “It would be very interesting to see if he had to speak about the Harvey Weinstein trial,” Battilana Gutierrez said of Pecker. Of Battilana Gutierrez, he added, “Harvey wishes her well and hopes only for happiness and success for her.”Eventually, Battilana Gutierrez did sign a non-disclosure agreement with Weinstein’s legal team. Mark Peterson/Redux“Both Harvey Weinstein and Donald Trump were ‘FOPs’ – Friends of Pecker,” Cartwright told CNN.

Before noon, Merchan had already dismissed the allegations from Trump’s attorneys, ruling there were no violations and that the trial will begin with jury selection on April 15. Trump faced a Monday deadline to post bond or else New York Attorney General Letitia James could have begun the process of seizing his property. ‘It will be my honor to post,’ Trump saysTrump didn’t speak inside the courtroom Wednesday, but he still had plenty of chances to make his views of Monday’s developments known. In the other three, he may yet be successful, though the New York trial is now set to begin in three weeks. Immediately after Merchan’s decision to start the hush money trial next month, Trump’s attorneys sought another way to push back the start of the trial.

We got a preview of this unprecedented criminal trial mixed with a presidential campaign on Thursday at a key hearing in the New York criminal case. Claiming violent crime in cites, especially those run by Democrats, is one of Trump’s favorite talking points. The idea that violent crime is at an “all-time high” is completely untrue, as CNN’s Daniel Dale wrote last October. But the judge in Manhattan has filled Trump’s calendar at the end of March, when that federal trial could theoretically have taken place. But as The New York Times notes, despite the rising number of migrants in the city, violent crime has dropped.

CNN —A former National Security Council official has reached a plea deal on hate crime charges after going on racist, anti-Palestinian and Islamophobic rants against a food cart vendor in New York in November. Stuart Seldowitz, 64, pleaded not guilty in November to two counts of fourth-degree hate crime/stalking and one count of second-degree aggravated harassment, court records show. In another video, Seldowitz tells the vendor, “We’re going to put big signs here saying this guy believes in Hamas.”In another video, Seldowitz asks the man whether he’s familiar with Egypt’s General Intelligence Service, better known as the Mukhabarat. Mohamed Attia, of the Street Vendor Project, told CNN the vendor said he did not instigate the conversation with Seldowitz. His family’s landlord was charged in what police are calling a hate crime and has pleaded not guilty to charges including murder.

Below is a fact check of 102 of Trump’s false claims from the 12 speeches. But contrary to Trump’s claim, it’s not true that people had been attempting for decades to create such an initiative. Trump’s aid to farmersIn speech after speech, Trump claimed that he had given US farmers $28 billion from China. Even if the poll result is off, it’s clear that Trump’s claim that “nobody wants them” is not true. He said he was an airline pilot.”Facts First: Trump made a false claim while mocking Biden for making false claims.

Trump was indicted back in March by the Manhattan district attorney on state charges related to hush-money payments to a former adult-film star in 2016. Smith is also overseeing other investigations related to Trump, including those regarding the January 6, 2021, insurrection and the 2020 election. That federal law deals with the illegal retention of “national defense information,” a broad term that encompasses classified documents and other sensitive government materials. Federal charges related to classified documents likely do not either. But people do routinely serve prison time for retention of classified documents, conspiracy and obstruction.

Manhattan prosecutors explored several options for criminally charging Donald Trump, including indicting the former president under a state racketeering statute, before the effort ended in “the legal equivalent of a plane crash,” a former top prosecutor wrote in a new book. Mark Pomerantz, a former federal prosecutor who joined the Trump probe after retiring from law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, wrote that when he left the district attorney’s office this past year, he believed that Mr. Trump had committed serious crimes and that prosecutors had evidence on which a jury could have found the former president guilty. Mr. Pomerantz wrote that he ultimately resigned from his post after what he viewed was a rushed and inattentive examination of the case by the current district attorney, Alvin Bragg .
From now on, the criminal convictions will place an indelible asterisk next to the Trump business name. With serious criminal investigations underway against Trump in Washington, Atlanta and New York, the convictions remind us of the sharpest arrow in a prosecutor’s quiver: flipping the target’s lieutenants. Loyal to the end, Weisselberg never fingered Trump personally at trial and even cooperated with defense lawyers by forswearing Trump’s involvement in the fraud. Before joining the top tier at DOJ, Colangelo led New York Attorney General Letitia James’ inquiry into Trump. By thrusting himself into the national spotlight, there is no way that his misconduct wouldn’t catch stellar prosecutors’ careful attention.
