Market disconnectsSpeaking of mistakes in the market, Rosenthal thinks the current composition of the market is untenable and due for a correction. "We don't think the equal-weighted S&P or any kind of index ex the Mag Seven is at an extremely low valuation," Rosenthal said. Rosenthal holds CVS (CVS) in his portfolio. Nippon Sanso (NPXYY) is a Japanese oil and gas company that Rosenthal believes is undervalued. Combined with the structural tailwind of corporate reforms within Japan, Rosenthal believes this Japanese company's stock is well-positioned to appreciate in the coming years.

How to trade Adobe's upcoming earnings using options

I'll break down various option trade scenarios into the earnings, focusing on one that will benefit from a big move in any direction. Adobe's Creative Cloud subscription model generates recurring revenue and maintains a solid customer base, from freelancers to large enterprises. Adobe's Document Cloud, featuring Acrobat and PDF solutions, is critical in digital document management and e-signatures. Of course, any bears out there could also use a calendar to bet on a downside move, using a $500 Sep/Jan put calendar. Combining the call and put calendar is a trade I usually refer to as a strangle swap.

Walmart wants diners to find a value meal in its grocery aisles. As fast food gets pricier, the nation's largest grocer sees a sales opportunity. As customers see some grocery items stay the same price or even become cheaper, the gap between buying menu items and cooking food at home has grown even wider, he said. As of April, the price of food at home, a category that measures the total cost of food purchased at grocers or other food stores, was up 1.1% year over year. The price of food away from home rose significantly more: 4.1% year over year.

Fewer construction workers means less — and slower — residential construction, which in turn leads to higher home prices, according to a 2023 report from researchers at the University of Utah and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Builders and infrastructure projects are in desperate need of all kinds of construction workers, but especially skilled tradespeople. Simonson said that allowing more immigrants into the country to fill construction jobs is crucial. Making the industry more appealing to womenBoushey pointed out that the share of women in the overall construction industry has climbed. The construction industry is also at a disadvantage because most workers can't do manual labor until they retire.

Eaton and DuPont are both unconventional AI plays, as the data center market grows to meet the demands of the generative AI boom. Wells Fargo Investment Institute last month described rising data center demand as having positive "trickle-down effects" on the industrial sector. WFII wrote that spending from Big Tech firms into data centers, in particular, creates "meaningful downstream impacts" for industrial companies. Amazon Web Services is reportedly investing nearly $150 billion in data centers within the next 15 years to support AI efforts. During a Barclays investor conference in February, CFO Lori Koch said DuPont's data center and AI exposure will help boost the company's electronics business.

Power demand from generative AI will soar from 46 terawatt hours to 224 TWH between this year and 2027, according to the firm's base case scenario. That's equivalent to more than 75% of the total global data center power use in 2022, or close to Spain's entire power consumption in 2022, the firm said. "We believe the rapid power demand growth from GenAI is not well understood, and not priced into a number of stocks." Among large-scale renewable developers in the U.S., AES has the largest commercial and industrial market share, according to Morgan Stanley. Apart from data center infrastructure and power providers, utilities are another part of the data center servicing ecosystem.

What little suspense is left in the year revolves around whether the S & P 500 can close at a historic high. Closing the year at a historic high is a fairly rare event — it's only happened eight times since 1926, and only four times since 1963, according to S & P Global: 2020, 2013, 1999, 1991, 1963, 1958, 1954, 1928. We're adding to our Eaton position after learning about data center news that makes us even more bullish about this power management company. Late Thursday, Blackstone and Digital Realty announced a huge joint venture to develop $7 billion worth of data centers across Europe and North America. News like this is fantastic for Eaton, whose largest end market by sales is Data Centers & Distributed IT, representing about 15% of sales. In the press release announcing the deal, Gray said, "Data centers are experiencing once-in-a-generation demand growth, driven by cloud adoption and the AI revolution." AI data centers require both higher power and higher power density relative to traditional data centers, resulting in three times the electric content.

Bottom line It was another terrific quarter from Salesforce with steady, double-digit revenue growth and a continued operating margin uplift, leading to a huge increase in earnings per share. Additionally, the topline growth story has some game to it, thanks to the surge in interest in its Data Cloud. By Cloud unit, the most exciting performance in the quarter came from the Data Cloud. Revenue growth accelerated to 22% from 16% in the prior quarter, and the company said it added 1,000 new customers in the quarter alone. Artificial intelligence is driving the interest in the Data Cloud, as more customers seek to use Mulesoft's integration technology to unlock data across legacy systems, cloud apps, and devices.

Hackers who compromised Okta's customer support system stole data from all of the cybersecurity firm's customer support users, Okta said in a letter to clients Tuesday, a far greater incursion than the company initially believed. An Okta spokesperson told CNBC that customers in government or Department of Defense environments were not impacted by the breach. It also makes Okta a high-profile target for hackers, who can exploit vulnerabilities or misconfigurations to gain access to a slew of other targets. Bloomberg first reported on the letter to Okta customers. Okta first disclosed earlier this month that its customer support system had been hacked but said at the time that around 130 customers were impacted by the breach.

We are shifting our industrial exposure Tuesday afternoon by selling Emerson Electric on its slight gain and buying Eaton on today's dip. Historically when the market is overbought, we are hesitant about putting new money to work because an overbought market suggests the market has run up too far too fast and needs to digest gains. But selling one stock to buy another else keeps us cash neutral. We realize a loss of about 8% on Emerson stock purchased in December 2022. SAO PAULO, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Latin American fintech Clara has launched a payment account in Brazil that it expects will help it reach 6 billion reais ($1.23 billion) in transactions in 2024, the firm said on Tuesday, as it eyes growth in the region's largest economy. Clara, which also provides corporate cards and expense management solutions, said the new product would allow clients in Brazil to expand their payment methods, adding bank slips and express wire transfers (TEDs) to its traditional credit card. Clara announced in August it was moving its headquarters from Mexico to Brazil after obtaining a central bank license to operate as a payment institution there, allowing it to launch the so-called 'Clara Conta'. Clara's credit card already accounts for annual transactions of over a 1 billion reais in Brazil alone, and the company says operations have been doubling in size every six months.
