CNN —When the Philadelphia Phillies won the National League (NL) East for the fifth year in a row in 2011, they probably did not expect to have to wait too much longer for their next division title. Fast-forward to Monday night and the Phillies have clinched their first NL East crown in 13 years with a 6-2 win over the Chicago Cubs at Citizens Bank Park. Only the Los Angeles Dodgers (93-63) have a better record in MLB this season than the Phillies (93-64). “This is what you work for all year,” two-time NL MVP Bryce Harper told NBC Sports Philadelphia from a raucous locker room. To be able to win your division, it’s hard to do in baseball.

May 8 (Reuters) - River Plate's Agustin Palavecino and Boca Juniors' Marcos Rojo and Luis Vazquez are under investigation by Buenos Aires prosecutors, Argentine media reported, following a fiery brawl that led to seven red cards in River's 1-0 win in the Argentine derby on Sunday. River Plate president Jorge Brito said he did not like the way the match ended despite their victory, and that both teams made mistakes that triggered the brawl. Under Argentine law, Rojo could be sanctioned with one to five days of community service or a fine of 200 to 2000 Argentine pesos ($0.87 to $8.79). Palavecino and Vazquez could face fines of 10,000 to 50,000 Argentine pesos or five to 30 days' detention. Forum, founded in 1948 to ensure that Mexican American World War II veterans could access their government benefits. “Latinos have a long and honorable tradition of military service,” he said, “only somehow it is not as well-known as that of other groups. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, there are nearly 1.3 million Latino veterans, or about 8 percent of the veteran population. Issues for Latino veterans, Vazquez-Contes noted, range from accessing medical care through the Veterans Administration system to homelessness to suicide. “The promotion rates for the top enlisted ranks, and the top officer ranks, are just basically void of Hispanic names.”Ricardo Aponte of the Hispanic Veterans Leadership Alliance.
