Cheung Ka Long’s triumph over Filippo Macchi of Italy in the gold medal bout in men’s foil on Monday has led to a sour fallout that has spilled off the fencing strip: Pizza Hut’s Hong Kong and Macao branch has offered free pineapple toppings on its pies as fans on social media praised the combination widely shunned by the losing side. “All Hong Kong people are very happy and excited today!” the branch said in a Facebook post on Tuesday announcing the offer, adding it was also celebrating a bronze medal the Chinese territory had won on Monday, in the women’s 200-meter freestyle.

Along their daily route, the pair passed an abandoned, rusted-out school bus moldering at the far end of a field. CNN —For the past year and a half, medical cannabis company CEO Gary Long has spent a lot of his time reassuring Georgia’s small-town mayors about what will soon be coming to their local pharmacy: medical marijuana. The Georgia Board of Pharmacy is currently processing applications from pharmacies around the state that want to sell low-dose THC products. National chains such as CVS and Walmart won’t be selling THC products in Georgia, but Long said 130 local pharmacies have already agreed to sell his product exclusively. Making medical cannabis so accessible in such a traditionally conservative Deep South state like Georgia caught some by surprise. Californians have been able to buy medical cannabis since 1996 and adults there got the right to use it recreationally in 2016.

CNN —GameStop fired its CEO, Matt Furlong, and elevated Ryan Cohen to executive chairman, the company announced on Wednesday. GameStop (GME) also reported a net loss of $50.5 million, compared to a net loss of $157.9 million in the first quarter of 2022. The loss comes just a few months after GameStop (GME) reported its first quarterly profit in two years. Shares of GameStop tumbled nearly 20% in after-hours trading on the news of the company’s financial results and C-suite shakeup. During this period, GameStop’s stock surged to an all-time intraday high of $483, before falling.
