Alcon offers investors a way to play the growing demand for contact lenses and cataract surgery as society ages, according to Emily Leveille, portfolio manager at Thornburg Investment Management.
"One of the clearest structural trends that we see globally is an aging population," Leveille said on CNBC's "The Exchange."
"As the population ages, the demand for cataract surgery, the demand for contact lenses increases across the world."
She called Alcon a leader in contact lenses, a market she called stable and one that has pricing power.
U.S.-listed shares of Alcon have jumped nearly 24% this year, building on 2023's 14% rally.
