But despite SVB Private's elite clientele, the holiday gift guide isn't intended to make headlines for boasting extravagant items like the Neiman Marcus luxury wish list. Instead, the list highlights SVB clients, which is organized by vendor rather than category and includes quotes from each founder. SVB Private's gift guide includes Flanagan Wines, owned by client Eric Flanagan, pictured with his wife, Kit. During the pandemic, Gregory's 400-plus winery clients were struggling with restaurants closed and wine tastings off-limits. Flanagan has sold wine through SVB's monthly specials and appreciated getting brand awareness with SVB's rich tech clients.

The Justice Department is asking a judge to issue a preliminary injunction to block Tennessee from enforcing the law. Photo: Patrick Semansky/Associated PressThe Justice Department filed a lawsuit Wednesday challenging Tennessee’s recent ban on certain healthcare for transgender minors, arguing the law violates the constitutional guarantee of equal protection. Under the measure, doctors are prohibited from providing certain treatments to anyone under 18 even with parental consent if the procedure is used as part of transgender healthcare. The restrictions include a block on prescribing medications that can delay the onset of puberty or hormones that can cause physical changes such as the development of facial hair or breasts. The law also requires physicians to discontinue current gender-transition care of minor patients by March 2024.

As of Thursday evening, the legislation supported by Mr. Lee hasn’t been attached to existing bills and it hadn’t come up for discussion in any committees.

Prosecutors in Baltimore have dropped the murder charges against Adnan Syed in a case that drew national attention after it was featured on the podcast “Serial.”A spokeswoman for the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s office confirmed Tuesday that her officer wouldn’t prosecute Mr. Syed a second time for the 1999 death of Hae Min Lee .
Adnan Syed has maintained his innocence, and both the 2014 ‘Serial’ podcast and a later HBO documentary raised questions about his conviction. Adnan Syed , an inmate at the center of the hit podcast “Serial,” is set to appear in a Baltimore city court on Monday afternoon where a judge will decide whether to overturn his murder conviction. The state’s attorney for Baltimore City asked a judge last week to vacate Mr. Syed’s first-degree murder conviction for the 1999 murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee . The prosecutors said they found new evidence about two suspects, including one who had told someone he would make Ms. Lee disappear.
