☆ Search continues for US tourist and two French women missing in Greece

CNN —Greek police are still searching for a US citizen who went missing on the Greek island of Amorgos, as well as two French women on the island of Sikinos in the Cyclades, a police spokeswoman told CNN on Monday. Albert Calibet, a 59-year-old American, has been missing since June 11, Petros Vasilakis, head of the Southern Aegean Police press office, told CNN. The two French nationals, aged 64 and 73 years old, went missing during a walk on the island of Sikinos, Vasilakis said. Vasilakis told CNN one of the women sent a message of distress to the guest house where she was staying. The man’s body will undergo a forensic examination later Monday to determine the cause of his death, police spokeswoman Konstantia Dimoglidou told CNN.

CNN —Two tourists, one from the United States and one from the Netherlands, have disappeared while hiking separately in Greece, authorities in the Mediterranean country have revealed. Popi Despotidi, Amorgos’ deputy mayor of tourism, told CNN on Thursday that Calibet has been coming “to Amorgos almost every year” for about a decade. US tourist Albert Calibet has been missing since Tuesday. Konstantia Dimoglidou, a spokesperson for the Greek police, told CNN on Thursday that “police, fire brigade and volunteers are involved in the search, including by air,” for both men.

CNN —British TV personality and health guru Michael Mosley may have died shortly after becoming unwell while walking alone on the Greek island of Symi, local police told CNN on Monday. CNN —A body has been found in the search for missing British TV presenter Michael Mosley in Greece, a police spokesperson said, but it needs formal identification. Mosley, who gives health advice on British media, disappeared on Wednesday after going for a walk alone on the Greek island of Symi. A body was found Sunday morning, according to Konstantia Dimoglidou, speaking on OPEN TV. On Friday, the search operation was said to be focused on the Pedi area of the island where a woman reported seeing him on Wednesday. The beach near where the body was found is not far from that area.
