CNN —It is so hot in Maricopa County, Arizona, that people are being brought into the emergency room with significant, sometimes life-threatening burns. For the past three or four weeks of this record heatwave, people have been burned just by falling on the ground. There are also burn patients in the ICU, and about half of those patients are people burned after falls. Despite the extreme heat, most places aren’t seeing burn injuries right now. Pets face injuries, tooAnimals can also get burned walking on hot concrete or asphalt, said Dr. Rena Carlson, president of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Pe 30 iunie expiră termenul pentru solicitarea rezidenţei în Regatul Unit, în cadrul procedurii #EUSettlementScheme destinată cetăţenilor europeni care se aflau pe teritoriul acestei ţări până la 31 decembrie 2020. Persoanele identificate de guvernul britanic că se încadrează în această ultimă situaţie vor primi notificări să solicite un statut de rezident în cel mult 28 de zile. Însă numai 33% dintre românii cu cererea aprobată au primit statutul de rezident permanent ("settled status"), ceilalţi obţinând statutul de rezident temporar ("pre-settled status"), în timp ce procentul polonezilor care au obţinut statutul de rezident permanent este de 77%. Statutul de rezident permanent poate fi obţinut de către persoanele care au trăit în Regatul Unit cel puţin cinci ani. Noul sistem de imigrare pe bază de puncte nu se aplică turiştilor şi nici cetăţenilor europeni care au obţinut sau urmează să obţină statutul de rezident permanent sau de rezident temporar.
