England vs. Haiti Aside from the United States, England may be facing the greatest expectations of any team in the tournament. But some of those names are missing from England’s current World Cup roster, after the Euro captain Leah Williamson and the star forward Beth Mead both tore anterior cruciate ligaments. At the 2019 World Cup, the team lost to Italy in the round of 16, a stage it hopes to reach again this year, unlikely as that is. According to their coach, Shui Qingxia, the Chinese are looking at this World Cup as an opportunity to reintroduce themselves to the world stage.
