Iowa's 94-87 win against LSU in the Elite Eight on Monday drew 12.3 million viewers, the most in women's college basketball history, according to ESPN. That figure topped the previous high of 9.9 million viewers from last season's NCAA championship game between the same programs. ESPN said Monday's figure was the highest viewership for any college basketball game ever on its platforms and the second-highest of any basketball game — college or NBA — since 2012. FanDuel told CNBC on Tuesday that Iowa-LSU was also its biggest betting event of all time for women's sports. ESPN said the women's Elite Eight averaged 6.2 million viewers, up 184% year-over-year, and represented four of the top five most-watched games in that round on record.

The reigning consensus National Player of the Year moved up to second place on the all-time NCAA Division I women’s basketball scoring leaderboard on Wednesday night, as her Iowa Hawkeyes eased past the Northwestern Wildcats, 110-74. In yet another dominant performance, Clark racked up 35 points to bring her career total to 3,424, only 103 short of the all-time record held by Kelsey Plum. “I think this situation is a perfect example of why schools have Title IX obligations,” said Chloe Neely, the lawyer representing Riley in her Title IX complaint. Riley’s Title IX complaint accuses Cherokee County Schools, which has about 2,900 students, of not properly training school staff on how to respond to a complaint of harassment. “There usually aren’t any accountability measures in place to ensure compliance with Title IX,” said Meyer, who was not referring specifically to Cherokee County. The proposed Title IX changes are currently going through a federal review process and could be finalized later this year. The Pennsylvania man charged in the killing of four University of Idaho students was a doctoral student at nearby Washington State University studying in the criminal justice and criminology department. Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, was booked into custody on an arrest warrant out of Moscow, Idaho, charging him with first-degree murder, court records show. He was listed as a Ph.D. student in the department of criminal justice and criminology at Washington State University (WSU), which is 10 miles west and just across the state line from the University of Idaho.
