A recently discovered guitar that John Lennon used to record multiple Beatles songs in the 1960s before it went missing for 50 years has sold at auction for $2.9 million, becoming one of the most valuable pieces of memorabilia from the band. Later that year, Mr. Lennon gifted the 1964 guitar, made by the German instrument manufacturer Framus, to Gordon Waller, a member of the British pop duo Peter & Gordon. Mr. Waller passed it on to one of his road managers, who took the guitar to his home in the rural British countryside and tossed it in the attic, the auction house said. More than 50 years later, a man in Britain discovered the guitar in his parents’ attic as they were moving out of the house, Darren Julien, a co-founder of Julien Auctions, said in a video. After they found it — along with its original guitar case — they alerted the auction house in March, Mr. Julien said.

An international coalition of astronomers has newly discovered an unusual planet, dubbed WASP-193b, that’s about 50% bigger than Jupiter and somehow still the second lightest planet ever found. Because of how small the mass signal was, it took the team four years to gather data and calculate WASP-193b’s mass, Barkaoui explained. Eventually the team discovered the planet’s mass is a measly 14% that of Jupiter, despite being so much bigger. CNN —A 12-string guitar played by Beatles stars John Lennon and George Harrison and thought to have been lost for almost 60 years is going up for auction. The acoustic Framus “Hootenanny” was used by the band in 1965, featuring in recordings, sessions and performances of songs including “Help!” “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away” and “It’s Only Love,” according to California-based auction house Julien’s Auctions. Vistra has rallied nearly 57% this year and could see even more upside as demand from data centers helps drive a "renaissance" of nuclear power, according to Bank of America. The analyst's updated forecast reflects about $8 per share of upside to earnings from Vistra's nuclear business on potential contracts with data centers. Bank of America expects Vistra to continue to prioritize shareholder returns and pay down debt. Bank of America sees the power producer's free cash flow before growth coming in above guidance, which could create investment opportunities. Vistra serves approximately 2.9 million customers with a power generation fleet of 41,000 megawatts in natural gas, nuclear, coal and solar facilities.

Shares of Teleperformance plunged 23% on Thursday, after the French call center and office services group missed its full-year revenue target and flagged a "volatile economic environment." Teleperformance shares dropped 16% last week, according to LSEG data, after Swedish financial services company Klarna said its Open AI-powered customer service assistant was handling two-thirds of customer service calls. But Teleperformance CEO Daniel Julien on Thursday said that AI would be a positive for its business model — and that it will never fully replace the value of human interaction. "AI is part of the solutions we provide to the clients," Julien told CNBC's "Squawk Box Europe." So we perceive AI as enhancing the job that our human employees do, but absolutely not replacing them."
