Wonder Land: Surveying the record of his three years in office, Mr. Biden has decided his re-election turns on two events: the Capitol riot of 2021 and Mr. Trump’s efforts to reverse the 2020 presidential election results in several states. Images: Getty Images/Zuma Press Composite: Mark KellyJoe Biden is running as if he were unopposed for the Democratic presidential nomination, but he may face a comeuppance in New Hampshire. In the name of “diversity,” the Democratic National Committee demoted the Granite State from its traditional status as the first-in-the-nation primary in favor of South Carolina, where Mr. Biden’s 2020 campaign took flight. New Hampshire decided to hold its primary on Jan. 23 anyway, much to the DNC’s chagrin. Mr. Biden decided not to put his name on the ballot, forcing allies to run a write-in campaign against Rep. Dean Phillips and self-help author Marianne Williamson .

Kyrsten Sinema didn’t always seem like a moderate. Now she has left the Democratic Party to become an independent, complaining that “payback against the opposition party has replaced thoughtful legislation.”Yet ideologically she hasn’t changed much. FiveThirtyEight.com notes that she has voted with President Biden 93% of the time. Where she departs from today’s Democratic Party is over its intolerant domination by progressives. She said progressives had caught “the dread disease” of “identity politics” and wrapped themselves in the “mantle of victimhood.”

One of the biggest stories of this year’s midterm elections has been the shift among Hispanic voters in South Florida and South Texas toward the Republican Party. But a more impressive gauge of the GOP’s new strength may come in an unsuspecting place—Harris County, Texas, which sits in the eastern part of the state and encompasses most of Houston. At 4.7 million people, Harris County is the third most populous county in the U.S. It’s also one of the most diverse. According to recent census numbers, its population is 44% Hispanic, 27% white, 20% African-American and 7% Asian.
