LOS ANGELES (AP) — A little too country for rock ‘n’ roll, and a little too rock ‘n’ roll for country, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams has always played by her own rules. Williams underwent grueling rehabilitation, eventually leading to her memoir, “Don’t Tell Anybody the Secrets I Told You,” and her album, “Stories from a Rock N Roll Heart." AP: You’re hitting the road for “Stories from a Rock N Roll Heart,” your first album since your stroke. She’s just so fun to work with because she’s real enthusiastic, and, you know, she’s fun to be with. After giving birth to a baby girl in 2019 and spending months at home, Ms. Price was eager to return to work, but then the Covid-19 pandemic canceled all of her shows. “I felt like all the momentum I was gaining just came to a complete halt,” she recalls over the phone while on tour in Park City, Utah. “I thought, well, it was a good run.”Ms. Price admits that things then got a little dark. Stuck at home near Nashville, Tenn., with her husband, guitarist Jeremy Ivey, and their children, who are now 12 and 3, without concerts or child care or much socializing of any kind, she says her days felt rudderless. The monotony was punctuated only by the drinks she had after putting the kids down at night and the hangovers she nursed the next day.
