Scott Wren, a senior global market strategist at Wells Fargo Investment Institute, recently noted that market breadth is abnormally narrow. He found that the five best performers in the S&P 500 accounted for nearly three-fifths of its exceptional 10.6% year-to-date gain through May 31. That fate will soon apply to the S&P 500, Wren warned. Such a sell-off would take the S&P 500 below 5,000 for the first time since April. "And it's tough to be patient when the S&P 500 set a bunch of all-time high records."

Affording a home has been a Herculean challenge in recent years due to rising property prices and stubbornly high mortgage rates. That means only 20% of the markets surveyed have homes selling for under half a million dollars and are also getting more affordable. 26 growing cities where home prices are downSince cities with falling home prices are relatively rare, homebuyers might assume that those markets are getting cheaper because they're becoming less popular. However, there are over two dozen markets where property prices have fallen in recent years despite enjoying an influx of residents, according to Zoocasa's new report. AdvertisementThat leaves 26 markets where home prices are down despite sizable population growth.

The healthcare sector's 7% return this year is less than half of the S&P 500's 14.9% gain. At first glance, the lack of interest in healthcare stocks seems justified, given the group's subpar earnings growth. However, the upcoming earnings rebound for healthcare stocks isn't accounted for in valuations. Fortunately for investors, BMO has done that legwork by highlighting a slew of top healthcare stocks in its US model portfolios. Below are the eight outperform-rated healthcare stocks in BMO's model portfolios, along with the ticker, market capitalization, and group or groups that each is in.

Global stocks, as measured by the MSCI World Index, are up nearly 10% year-to-date. "I see election risks as one of — if not the biggest — risks to markets in the second half of the year." The lawsuit accuses the couple of targeting Haitian immigrants in New York City to recruit them into the pyramid scheme using local prayer circles. After founding NovaTechFx in 2019, Cynthia Petion rebranded herself as the "Reverend CEO," claiming that her company was "God's vision," the lawsuit says. Younger Americans are finally outspending baby boomers, former Wall Street bank analyst Meredith Whitney recently noted. That's an encouraging sign for the US economy, which most economists believe is healthy, though some bearish prognosticators have serious doubts. There are several possible explanations for these findings and numerous takeaways from them, the "Oracle of Wall Street" said. However, young Americans' spending power shouldn't be discounted, as Whitney suggested that they command relatively high salaries since they attend college at higher rates. A continued economic expansion would be especially crucial for Gen Zers and millennials, who are entering the workforce or establishing their careers.

CNN —A far-right coalition of parties in the European Parliament has expelled Germany’s Alternative for Germany (AfD) Party following their leading candidate’s comments about Nazi SS soldiers during World War II. “The ID Group no longer wants to be associated with the incidents involving Maximilian KRAH, head of the AfD list for the European elections,” it said. Krah, the AfD’s leading candidate in next month’s European elections, has already been banned from making public appearances by his party, following controversial comments about Nazi SS soldiers in Italian newspaper La Repubblica over the weekend. French far-right leader Marine Le Pen from her National Rassemblement (RN) Party has also said they would no longer sit in the same parliamentary group as the AfD after next month’s elections. Industry analysts think the AI revolution is still in its early stages, and longtime fund manager Chris Retzler agrees. But the market veteran believes small, under-the-radar growth stocks—not the well-known companies that have already surged — are the best way to play the AI boom. Plus, investors are overlooking small-cap stocks' exposure to key growth opportunities like AI, data center buildouts, military modernization, and telecommunication improvements, in Retzler's view. "Money doesn't go immediately to small caps — it goes to the next market cap, generally," Retzler said.
