(AP) — Louisville has reached an agreement with College of Charleston coach Pat Kelsey to become the Cardinals’ next men’s basketball coach, a person with direct knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press. Kenny Payne, a first-time head coach, was fired by Louisville on March 13 after going 12-52 the last two seasons at his alma mater. CNN —A judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by the state of Indiana against TikTok accusing the company of making false claims about the safety of user data and age-appropriate content. Judge Jennifer DeGroote of Allen County Superior Court in Fort Wayne, Indiana, said the court “lacks personal jurisdiction” over TikTok and that downloading an app at no cost does not constitute a “consumer transaction” under the Indiana Deceptive Consumer Sales Act, according to court documents. Similar lawsuits now remain active in other states including Arkansas and Utah. The lawsuit alleged TikTok attracts young people to its platform under the pretense that it’s safe yet still exposes them to inappropriate content including drug and alcohol use, nudity and profanity. INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A former Indiana lawmaker has agreed to plead guilty to a federal charge alleging that he accepted promises of lucrative employment from a gaming company during his time in public office, federal prosecutors said Friday. Sean Eberhart, 57, agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy to commit honest services fraud, according to court documents filed Thursday. The former Republican state representative represented central Indiana's House District 57 for 16 years before leaving office in November 2022. In 2022, longtime casino executive John Keeler was sentenced along with a former Indiana state senator, Brent Waltz, for their role in the illegal funneling of gambling money into the lawmaker's unsuccessful 2016 bid for congress. His identification makes Livingston the ninth presumed victim of Baumeister to be identified by investigators from among roughly 10,000 charred bones and bone fragments that were found at Baumeister’s sprawling property, Jellison said. He said investigators believe the bones and fragments could represent the remains of at least 25 people. During the original investigation in the 1990s, 11 human DNA samples were extracted from bones and bone fragments. Eight of those people, all young men, were identified and matched to DNA samples, with Livingston now the ninth to be identified, Jellison said. An amusing story about the arrest of an Arkansas resident named Bridgette Watkins who allegedly raised deer indoors with the intention of training them to attack hunters is not real and originated on a satire page. The story and the photos could be traced to a Facebook post from a parody account that describes its content as satirical(here). The bio of the Facebook page, called Arkansas Game Fish, reads, “Satire page just for laughs.”(here). The page also posted a disclaimer saying “This is a satire page” just hours before sharing the Bridgette Watkins story (here). The page appears to be a parody of an Arkansas government agency: Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (www.facebook.com/ARGameandFish).
