So many, in fact, that they outnumber the amount of traditional rentals tagged for development over the same time. "We've had a development industry that is adding more short-term rentals to South Florida inventory," Studnicky told BI. AdvertisementDevelopers in the Miami region should focus on creating more traditional rentals to alleviate pressure in the market, Studnicky believes. In the past 10 years, Studnicky estimates a much more robust 20,000 traditional rental units were built in Miami.

Shares of Dell Technologies popped more than 15% during extended trading Thursday after the company released fourth-quarter results that beat analysts' estimates and showed strong demand for its artificial intelligence servers. The company reported net income $1.16 billion, up 89% from the $614 million it posted in the same period last year. Servers and networking revenue made up the bulk of that, with $4.9 billion in revenue driven by "AI-optimized servers." The company's Client Solutions Group (CSG) reported $11.7 billion for the quarter, down 12% year over year. For its first quarter, Dell said during its quarterly call with investors that it expects to report revenue between $21 billion and $22 billion.

The environmental impact of IT has been largely overlooked, said Matt Warburton, principal consultant and sustainability lead at IT advisory firm ISG. "IT's environmental impact, as a proportion of the overall business impact, is increasing," Warburton said. "More than half of executives use spreadsheets for some ESG data," Moyer said. "They are generally among the most 'sustainably-savvy' organizations, with ambitious commitments for their own operations and deep expertise in minimizing IT's environmental impact," Warburton said. "If an enterprise has a net zero goal, IT should also have its own net zero goal.

Goldman Sachs says 2023 should be a decent year for stocks even if there's a recession. The firm's investment strategy group discussed its multi-asset views this week. The simultaneous nosedive in stocks and bonds last year doesn't debunk the theory behind the traditional 60-40 portfolio, according to Goldman Sachs. But Sharmin Mossavar-Rahmani, the head of the Investment Strategy Group (ISG) at Goldman Sachs, says that it's not that unusual for stocks and bonds to move in the same direction. In fact, he noted that if a recession begins and ends in 2023, stocks may not have a bad year.
