CNN —An Australian teenager of Samoan heritage has been announced as the star of the upcoming live-action version of the hit Disney movie “Moana.”Seventeen-year-old Catherine Laga‘aia has been cast as the eponymous heroine of the movie, which begins filming this summer. She is no stranger to showbiz, however, as her father is Jay Laga‘aia, a New Zealand-born actor who starred in two of the “Star Wars” movies. He is also one of the movie’s producers, alongside, among others, “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote much of the original movie’s soundtrack. Auli’i Cravalho starred as Moana in the original film, along with Rachel House, Nicole Scherzinger and Temuera Morrison. Disney has successfully reimagined several of its animated classics as live-action movies, beginning with “Beauty and the Beast” in 2017, followed by “Aladdin” and “The Lion King” in 2019 and “The Little Mermaid” last year.

CNN —Former “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor was fatally shot in downtown Los Angeles while interrupting thieves Saturday, according to his agent and CNN affiliate KABC. Her son initially thought his car was being towed, and he approached the person to ask, Scarlett Wactor told KABC. The shooting occurred around 3:25 a.m. PT Saturday, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im told CNN. One of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the victim before the men drove off in a vehicle. Wactor starred in “General Hospital” as Brandon Corbin from 2020 to 2022, according to IMDB.

So, as e-commerce reached a fever pitch during the pandemic, I vowed never to order from Amazon again. Buying online isn't always best for your walletThe first thing I noticed when quitting buying from Amazon was that I didn't actually need 90% of what I ordered. Abstaining from Amazon — and all the online megastores — meant I no longer made those impulse purchases, and, unsurprisingly, life went on.
