STAMPING GROUND The exterior styling of the 2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid (seen here in Limited trim, $41,010, as tested) is dominated by spear-like creases in the sheet metal and swollen front and rear fenders. Photo: HyundaiIN THE PAST DECADE the Seoul-based Hyundai Group—including Kia, Hyundai and Genesis—has rolled out a lot of stylish and attractive cars. This is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited AWD, an otherwise sound and sensible compact crossover that looks like it lost a knife fight. What is happening with those exaggerated speed lines over the swept, swollen fenders? It’s as if someone stuck their head in the design studio and yelled, “Here comes the boss.

SEOUL, July 1 (Reuters) - North Korea has no intention to "examine" South Korea's Hyundai Group chief's plan to visit the North's Mount Kumgang, the country's foreign ministry said in a statement on Saturday. Hyundai Group Chairwoman Hyun Jeong-eun has been seeking to visit North Korea in August and submitted applications to South Korea's unification ministry, Yonhap news agency reported on Friday, citing an unnamed official at the ministry. Hyundai's late founder, Chung Ju-Yung, was born in North Korea. Mount Kumgang is on North Korea’s east coast near the demilitarised zone separating the two countries. North Korea has long rejected criticism of its rights conditions as part of a plot to overthrow its rulers.

His two-year-old boy, Thomas, asked to ride in the “big boy seat,” the child safety seat his older brother usually rode in, the one right behind the driver’s seat. Thomas died strapped into his safety seat, as his small body was simply overcome by the heat. Cestia’s truck had a rear seat reminder but, he said, he somehow didn’t notice it when he got to work. He bought his daughter a child safety seat with a heat sensor on the buckle that alerts him if she’s buckled in and it’s getting too hot. And he also listens for the rear seat reminder and habitually checks the backseat.

WASHINGTON, Oct 14 (Reuters) - South Korea's Hyundai Motor Co (005380.KS) said Friday it will break ground this month on a $5.5 billion electric vehicle and battery plant in the United States. Hyundai plans to begin commercial production in the first half of 2025 with an annual capacity of 300,000 units. The groundbreaking comes amid anger from Korea and the European Union over U.S. electric vehicle tax policy. The law made about 70% of EVs immediately ineligible for the tax credits of up to $7,500 per vehicle. Biden has expressed willingness to continue talks with South Korea over recent U.S. legislation that denies subsidies to most foreign makers of electric vehicles (EVs), South Korea said earlier this month.
