Ukraine has repeatedly hit Russia's air defenses in Crimea over the last few months, with attacks intensifying this week. Fanatics wants to expand the sports trading card industry. Now it's aiming to meet high-end collectors through a new partnership with Sotheby's that will create a collection of auctions for trading cards valued at more than $100,000. "It's also an opportunity to really elevate sports trading cards, and create these moments with some of the most important and prestigious cards." Sotheby's has increasingly leaned into sports, something that Brahm Wachter, Sotheby's head of Modern Collectables, said is one of the auction house's fastest-growing categories.

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., at a hearing Thursday ordered former Trump White House aide Steve Bannon to report to jail by July 1 to begin serving a four-month sentence for his criminal contempt of Congress conviction. Outside of court, Schoen told reporters, "The decision has it wrong factually in many many ways, it's a horrible decision." Bannon told reporters Thursday, "I've got great lawyers, and we're gonna go all the way to the Supreme Court if we have to." It is possible that Bannon's jail sentence could be stayed by an order of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, or by the U.S. Supreme Court.

The incredible oblivion of Judge Marvin Isgur

On a mild Houston day in March 2021, Judge Marvin Isgur prepared to oversee the only case on his docket that morning. In October 2023, the Fifth Circuit Court rebuked Judge David Jones but said that his longtime colleague, Judge Marvin Isgur, had been "unaware" of Jones' inappropriate relationship. "But only Judge Isgur knows what he knew or didn't know about the relationship." Much of this work was in cases before either Judge Isgur or Judge Jones. Isgur can continue to hear the case, he ruled, writing in the December 2023 opinion that lawyers for the creditor "failed to demonstrate much other than that former Judge Jones and Judge Isgur are close friends."

But Trump won't do a penitent probation interview — or any at all, Kuby predicted. Advertisement"If he wants to show remorse, then certainly the probation report is a good place to start doing that," he added. During the first part of the interview, Trump would be asked for standard, so-called "pedigree" information — name, aliases, address, profession, marital status, that kind of thing. During the rest of the interview, Trump would be offered the chance to speak about his conviction and make a plea for leniency.

But the company also has an underappreciated growth story as an attractive "pick-and-shovels" way to play the nuclear renaissance theme, Morgan Stanley analysts led by Kristine Liwag told clients in a research note Thursday. Curtiss-Wright builds a crucial reactor coolant pump for Westinghouse's third-generation AP1000 nuclear plants and there's growing interest in these builds in Europe in particular. Talk of a nuclear renaissance 15 years ago fizzled due to the political emphasis on renewables and competitively priced alternatives, the Morgan Stanley analysts said. Modernization of current nuclear plants in the U.S. is a $7 billion opportunity through 2050, according to Curtiss-Wright management. In a bull case, Curtiss-Wright could realize $4.9 billion in revenue through 2050 on AP1000 builds, Morgan Stanley estimates.
