CNN —Massachusetts Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira, who in March pleaded guilty in a civilian court to willfully retaining and leaking classified intelligence, is now facing charges in military court, the Air Force announced. Teixeira — who was arrested last April after allegedly sharing classified intelligence on the social media platform Discord — is being charged with disobeying a direct order and obstructing justice under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, an Air Force spokesperson said. The Air Force requested the new charges against Teixeira in May and the charges were officially referred on July 2. CNN has previously reported that three internal Air Force memos revealed multiple instances in which his leadership observed and warned that he was inappropriately accessing classified information. His court martial trial will be held at Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts, the Air Force spokesperson said, but the date has yet to be determined.

This US Navy warship, at well over 200 years old, is not like the sea service's other ships, though. When it sets sail, the tall ship moves slowly, escorted by police boats and the Coast Guard and helicopters circling overhead. Today, it consists of three officers and around 80 enlisted Navy sailors — a mix of fleet returnees, meaning they've done previous tours, and individuals straight from boot camp. Flamini has worked as a medic during his three years with the old warship, but he also does pretty much anything else needed.

CNN —US Air Force prosecutors have asked for new charges against the Massachusetts Air National guardsman who pleaded guilty in federal court earlier this year to leaking highly classified intelligence reports and other documents on social media, according to the Air Force. During a hearing at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts on Tuesday, Air Force prosecutors asked a hearing officer to recommend charges of disobeying an order and obstructing justice against Jack Teixeira under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. CNN reported earlier this month that the Air Force would pursue separate charges under the UCMJ. Teixeira was represented by three military defense counsel, including one of the chief district defense counsels for the Air Force, a spokesperson for the Air Force said. The hearing officer will then make a recommendation on whether to move forward with the recommended charges or change them in some way.

CNN —The US Air Force is preparing new charges within the military justice system against the Massachusetts Air National Guardsman who pleaded guilty in federal court earlier this year to posting a trove of highly classified intelligence reports and other documents on social media, according to an Air Force spokesperson. But after “close coordination” with the Justice Department, the Air Force has“determined that separate and distinct charges” should be referred against Teixeira “for alleged misconduct related to his military duties,” the spokesperson said. The Air Force will hold a first hearing to review evidence on May 14 at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts, the spokesperson said. Prosecutors alleged that while working at a Cape Cod airbase, Teixeira posted messages that included classified information in a Discord chat room called “Thug Shaker Central” before eventually posting photos of documents marked as classified. The documents, some of which were reviewed by CNN, included a wide range of highly classified information, such as blunt assessments on the state of the Russia-Ukraine war.

To compensate for the extra cost of labor, restaurants like McDonald's, Chipotle, and Jack In the Box plan to raise menu prices at their California stores. AdvertisementIn an October earnings call, McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski said that menu prices would increase in California, but didn't say which items or by how much. Kempczinski said in the call that the company would be using the wage increase as an opportunity to gain on its competitors. This will be the fifth time the company has raised menu prices in the last two years. Pizza Hut cut its in-house delivery program, eliminating 1,200 delivery workers to prepare for the pay increase.

Amid these concerns, one private jet owner has decided to scale back. In line with Prince’s thoughts, the Institute for Policy Studies report advocates for higher taxes on both private jet sales and fuel. They also call for the federal jet fuel tax to be doubled from $0.219 per gallon to $0.438 per gallon for the most frequent private jet users. We should have very high taxes, [usage] taxes and fuel taxes that discourage private jet owners.”Collins adds that the construction of private aviation infrastructure should stop altogether, as this form of transportation should be phased out. In April, Schiphol airport in Amsterdam announced it is considering banning private jets from its grounds altogether.
