SARAJEVO, May 20 (Reuters) - Rescuers found the remains of a light aircraft that crashed on Saturday in the mountainous region of the northwestern Croatia but could not confirm if any crew members were found, the HINA state news agency reported. The search for the "Cirrus 20" aircraft that went off radar after noon during a flight from the Slovenian town of Maribor to the Adriatic city of Pula was conducted by a 120-strong rescue team in the forests of Lika-Senj. Army helicopters and drones were sent to search the area suspected of being mined during the war of the 1990s, local media reported. Rescuers said they did not know how many persons were on board of the Dutch-registered aircraft. Officials from some 40 countries as well as private donors and international financial institutions gathered at a meeting in Geneva as Islamabad sought funds to cover around half of a recovery bill amounting to $16.3 billion. The meeting’s co-hosts, the United Nations and Pakistan’s government, said more than $9 billion had been pledged from bilateral and multilateral partners. Among the donors were the Islamic Development Bank ($4.2 billion), the World Bank ($2 billion), Saudi Arabia ($1 billion), as well as the European Union and China, Pakistan Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said. “Today has truly been a day which gives us great hope,” said Hina Rabbani Khar, Pakistan’s minister of state for foreign affairs. Millions of homes, tens of thousands of schools as well as thousands of kilometers of roads and railways still need to be rebuilt, the UN says.
Pakistan to approach UN after blaming India for bombing

REUTERS/Mohsin RazaISLAMABAD, Dec 14 (Reuters) - Pakistan will take a dossier to the United Nations alleging its neighbour India has backed incidents of terrorism, the foreign ministry said on Wednesday, a day after Islamabad said India was behind a high-profile bombing. "We will call it information based evidence," Rabbani Khar said about the dossier. Khar said the facilitators and mastermind of the bombing that killed four people in eastern city of Lahore were based in India. "We would want India to hand them over, and as responsible nations do... and if India is a responsible nation, they will cooperate," she said. Arch-rivals Pakistan and India have fought three wars since 1947, when British colonial ended and the two independent nations were created in a blood-drenched process known as partition.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Taliban militants in Pakistan will no longer abide by a months-long ceasefire with the Pakistani government, a spokesman for the militant group said on Monday. The Afghan Taliban have been facilitating peace talks between local militants and the government since late last year. The end of the ceasefire comes ahead of a visit by a Pakistani delegation, led by state minister for foreign affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, to Kabul on Tuesday. Mohammad Khurasani, a spokesman for the militant group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) told Reuters in a text message that its leadership had decided to end the ceasefire with Pakistan. The Pakistani military has carried out several offensives against the militants in their strongholds in remote lawless districts bordering Afghanistan.
She specializes in work with tweens, teens and young adults. The fact that diet culture all over social media targets grown women is bad enough, but such messaging also trickles down to tweens and teens. But as we enter the winter holiday season, shame-based diet culture pressure, often wrapped up with toxic positivity to appear encouraging, increases. “Parents are often made to feel helpless in the face of TikTokers, peer pressure or wider diet culture, but it’s important to remember this: parents are influencers, too,” said Hanson. “Talk openly about it.”She suggests asking the following questions when discussing people’s messaging around diet culture:● Who are they?
Doctors in England are seeing patients whose health issues seem linked to the cost-of-living crisis. Some people are ignoring health issues as putting food on the table takes priority, one doctor said. Health brushed under the carpetIn some cases, the stress triggered by the cost-of-living crisis has diverted people's attention away from their health. Therapists aren't cheapFrances Trussell, a therapist in the UK, told Insider she hadn't had a surge in clients with cost-of-living concerns. She suspects the reason is that the people most strained by financial problems wouldn't be able to afford therapist services.

BENGALURU, Oct 21 (Reuters) - India's United Spirits Ltd (UNSP.NS) said on Friday its quarterly profit more than doubled from a year earlier, driven by a one-off gain from the sale of some brands to Inbrew. The Johnnie Walker whiskey maker said profit came in at 5.63 billion rupees ($67.83 million) for the three months ended Sept. 30, compared with 2.73 billion rupees a year earlier. Analysts on average had expected a profit of 2.36 billion rupees, according to Refinitiv IBES data. Before exceptional items and tax, profit rose 5% to 3.84 billion rupees. Margins in the liquor industry have been hit by surging inflation after a post-pandemic rebound, while scotch sales at companies like United Spirits have also been tempered by pricing issues in some states.
