CNN —Hurricane Beryl, a powerful Category 3 storm, is expected to slam into the Caribbean on Monday, endangering several island communities with life-threatening storm surge, violent winds and flash flooding. Beryl’s arrival marks an exceptionally early – and likely devastating – start to the Atlantic hurricane season. • Widespread tropical storm advisories: Tropical storm warnings are in effect for Martinique and Trinidad, the National Hurricane Center said. Less severe tropical storm watches are also in place in parts of the Dominican Republic and the southern coast of Haiti. The storm’s rapid intensification is very atypical this early into hurricane season, according to National Hurricane Center Director Mike Brennan.

Some 150,000 people have used the visa-free travel arrangements to claim asylum once in a European country, according to the EU home affairs commissioner, Ylva Johansson. Grenada runs a "Citizenship by Investment" program, offering a "golden passport" from $150,000. Demand for the program surged following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Russians called up as part of the partial mobilization go through military training in Rostov on October 21, 2022. But Grenada has flip-flopped on its decision to allow Russians to take part in the program. Those problems helped spur the creation of US Special Operations Command several years later. According to Maj. Gen. Richard Scholtes, the first commander of Joint Special Operations Command, US military officers involved in the planning soon butted heads. A task force of Delta Force operators, Rangers, and helicopters from the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment also attacked Fort Rupert and Richmond Hill Prison. Bettmann/Getty Images"The Pentagon was waging a frontal and rear assault in opposition to the creation of a special operations command," William Cohen said in the mid-2000s, according to Kukielski's article. Lindsay Lohan attends/performs during a photocall for "Speed The Plow" at Playhouse Theatre on September 30, 2014 in London, England. The Securities and Exchange Commission has unveiled fraud and unregistered securities charges against crypto founder and Grenadian diplomat Justin Sun, alongside separate violations against the celebrity backers of his Tronix and BitTorrent crypto assets, which included Jake Paul, Lindsay Lohan and Soulja Boy. The unregistered offer and sale charges, on the other hand, are similar to charges the SEC has unveiled against other crypto offerings and exchanges, including Genesis, Gemini and Do Kwon's Terraform Labs. “This case demonstrates again the high risk investors face when crypto asset securities are offered and sold without proper disclosure,” said SEC Chair Gary Gensler. Tron and his backers' alleged behavior was part of an "age-old playbook to mislead and harm investors," SEC enforcement chief Gurbir Grewal said in a statement.
Grenada's citizenship-by-investment, or CBI, program has accepted 1,500 residents yearly since 2013. Gaining Grenada citizenship takes about three months and is less costly than other CBI programs. To be a Grenadian tax resident, the country requires 183 days of residence on the island a year. Jafri added that with a Grenadian passport, a traveler doesn't need a visa to travel to China. The investment in hotel and resort projects costs less than other kinds of real-estate development to help drive tourism to the country, Hallam explained.
"Grenada is called 'little Switzerland,'" United Passport wrote in a Telegram message on September 25. Screenshot of United Passport Telegram. In the Telegram channel, United Passport advertised the possibility of getting to the US on an E-2 visa. In multiple exchanges on WhatsApp, United Passport told Insider Wednesday that one business opportunity would get us a Grenadian passport and, in turn, a US visa. The total cost, therefore, realistically starts at $200,000 for Russians when the $150,000 United Passport fee is factored in.
