DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Dallas, Florida and New York will host matches at next year's men's T20 World Cup, the governing body of cricket announced Wednesday. Venues in Grand Prairie outside Dallas and Broward County in Florida will be increased in size to expand seating, media and premium hospitality areas to enable them to host matches in the 20-team tournament, which makes it the biggest T20 World Cup yet. Florida also hosted recent T20s between India and the West Indies at Central Broward Stadium in Lauderhill. The T20 cricket format is favored to be one of the sports added to the program for the 2028 Los Angeles Games, with decisions by the International Olympic Committee scheduled at meetings next month in Mumbai, India. Problems in talks between the IOC and the Los Angeles organizing committee on commercial issues have stalled the process.

In December, they protested at 13 anti-LGBTQ+ protests, more than in any other month last year, ACLED data shows. And the group's anti-LGBTQ+ push is continuing, said Kaufman, who tracks the Proud Boys' estimated 119 chapters in 46 states. A maintenance worker in Texas was checking for frozen and burst pipes at an apartment complex on Christmas Eve when he was fatally shot by a resident who mistook him for a burglar, police said. Cesar Montelongo, center, a maintenance worker, was fatally shot while at his job, on the day before his 29th wedding anniversary. Montelongo Jr. said his father was on call on Christmas Eve, which was the day before his 29th wedding anniversary. Montelongo Jr. is the oldest of five male children his father leaves behind. Montelongo Jr. described his dad as “selfless” and said he preferred to live life smiling.
