CNN —At Princeton High School, students are trying to combat the rapid decline of indigenous languages with some unlikely help: a furry, wide-eyed stuffed animal named Che’w. He’s a wildly intelligent generative AI robot that speaks Mam, a Mayan language spoken in the western highlands of Guatemala and Mexico and by a small population of the school’s students. At a time when some high schools are restricting the use of AI in the classroom, others, like Princeton High School, are leaning into it. Gen Z are digital natives and have quickly adopted AI, using it for everything from assignment research to planning holidays. "So I speak to businesses and employers who hire anything from like 10 to 1000s of Gen Z every year," Davis said. Davis explained that "employers are getting hundreds of the exact same cover letters word for word," or answers to job application questions that are the same, and suspect that ChatGPT use is in play. And it appears that Gen Z is leaning the most on AI, according to a February Grammarly survey of 1,002 knowledge workers and 253 business leaders. It reported that 61% of Gen Z said they can't imagine doing work tasks without using generative AI — the most out of any of the generations.

A report by strategy consultant firm Tyton Partners, sponsored by plagiarism detection platform Turnitin, found half of college students used AI tools in Fall 2023. The practice of using AI for writing feedback or grading assignments also raises ethical considerations. But teachers should then grade students’ work themselves when looking for novelty, creativity and depth of insight. “Using feedback that is not truly from me seems like it is shortchanging that relationship a little,” she said. She also sees uploading a student’s work to ChatGPT as a “huge ethical consideration” and potentially a breach of their intellectual property.

Now I make thousands of dollars editing AI-generated text so nobody could tell a machine made it. My journey into AI content editing began a little after ChatGPT came out. Interested in writing, I decided to offer AI content editing services through the freelance gig platform Fiverr. So far, I've made more than $3,500 from my AI content editing services through Fiverr. Artificial intelligence is still new, and the demand for AI content editors will only continue to grow, especially among lazy or busy people.

Tails.com, a dog-food supplier owned by Nestlé Purina PetCare, is planning to cut up to 55 roles, Business Insider has learned. In January, the company announced internally that it planned to commence a round of layoffs that could affect up to 55 staffers in the UK, per documents seen by BI. Per UK employment law, the company is required to offer a statutory redundancy package to those affected by the layoffs. While the company documents acknowledged that it had hired 22 new roles in the past six months, they also said hiring for any non-critical business roles had been paused since November 2023. Unlike previous rounds of layoffs, these ones are happening while many tech companies are producing good financial results .

"I was kind of stuck, and the choice was between working more hours and billing more or working more efficiently," the financial writer told Business Insider. Over one-third of small-business owners in a survey said they'd tried ChatGPT for marketing content. The founder and CEO of Slade Copy House, a copywriting agency, believed the artificial-intelligence tool couldn't replace a human copywriter. In an Alignable survey of US small-business owners released in July, more than half of respondents said they had tried ChatGPT, and one-third said they had used it to create marketing content. Using ChatGPT successfully takes practice, and it doesn't work for every marketing task. ChatGPT can save small businesses time and marketing dollars, but it's not a magic bullet.

Church simply copied and pasted the resume into ChatGPT, prompted it to make the resume shorter and saw what it would do. There's one more reason Church advocates for using ChatGPT on your resume: It helps you stay up-to-date with the latest technology. As an employee, "if you're using tools to help you drive better outputs," he says, "God, I want that." "If you're not using tools that can help you build an amazing resume," he says. When it comes to reviewing a resume, former Google recruiter Nolan Church's biggest red flag is wordiness. 1 thing I don't want to see on a resume is probably text bricks," he says. There are other resume red flags that could mean you don't move on in the hiring process, too. For Church, a resume with mistakes means you "lack attention to detail," he says. Multiple unexplained short stintsAnother red flag for Church is "multiple, unexplained short stints," he says.

A former Google recruiter said a common résumé mistake is when there's too much text and words. He said applicants have "zero chance" of moving forward once he spots this easily avoidable error. Nolan Church, co-founder and CEO of executive talent platform Continuum, worked as a Google recruiter from 2012 to 2015. Church said: "There's zero chance you're going to move forward," when he sees this format. Church advised applicants to use apps like ChatGPT or Grammarly to help clean up and tighten their résumé.

Preply, a language learning platform connecting people with tutors, raised $70 million of fresh capital to ramp up its use of artificial intelligence, the company told CNBC exclusively. The equity portion was led by Horizon Capital, a venture capital firm focused on investing in emerging entrepreneurs, particularly Ukrainians. The funding adds to a $50 million Series C funding round Preply raised last year, and takes its total funding raised to over $170 million. It comes as Duolingo, a competitor to Preply, has been incorporating OpenAI's GPT language processing software to enhance its app's personalization to users. Horizon Capital raised $125 million for a startup fund aimed at backing Ukrainian founders.

Alexander says that with the right tools you can create a book in as little as a weekend. Canva has a ton of free book cover templates that you can use as a springboard for your own design. To create your e-book, I would recommend one of two options:Canva: The first option is to create your e-book within Canva. However, there is still a lot of work you'll need to do to get the e-book ready. For instance, you'll need to manually add in your table of contents, page numbers, and any other visual elements.

Type pretty much anything into ChatGPT and it’ll spit out a confident, convincing response. And during long conversations, it can veer into wild tangents. So I started testing apps that use OpenAI’s GPT technology, but aren’t ChatGPT. Language app Duolingo and learning platform Khan Academy now offer conversational, personalized tutoring with this technology. And all Snapchat users just got a new friend on the social network called My AI.
