The heat index in New York City is forecast to reach 96 degrees on Saturday and then 99 degrees on Sunday. Already, the city has recorded temperatures it hasn’t seen in almost two years, with Central Park hitting 94 degrees on Friday. Though the heat wave will not fade over the weekend, conditions are expected to cool slightly on Monday.
