The racketeering case against Donald J. Trump and his allies in Georgia has ignited outrage among staunch supporters of the former president, pushing some to urge the Republican-controlled state legislature to find a way to intervene. Change the state’s rules on pardons to empower the governor to absolve Mr. Trump and his associates should they be convicted — that has been one suggestion making the rounds on social media and conservative talk shows this week. June 30 (Reuters) - Four Georgia families sued the state in federal court on Friday to stop a law that bans transgender youth from receiving hormone therapy, joining a wave of challenges to similar laws across the United States. A host of Georgia state health officials and agencies are named as defendants. Unlike other states, Georgia does not also ban puberty blockers, typically the first medical intervention for transgender youth, who normally would next receive hormone therapy. Republican-led legislatures in 20 states have passed some type of ban on gender-affirming care for minors. Decisions on whether to block such bans in Montana and now Georgia are pending.

Oracle co-founder and Republican megadonor Larry Ellison is preparing to spend millions of dollars backing Sen. Tim Scott's run for president. The Opportunity Matters Fund PAC has been rebranded for Scott's White House run with a new name: Trust In The Mission PAC, or TIM PAC. Another veteran Republican fundraiser told CNBC that Ellison is already planning to donate up to $10 million to the TIM PAC in the early going of Scott's run. Ellison has signaled to allies that he could give at least between $20 million and $30 million more this cycle, this person said. Ellison admires Scott a great deal for the senator's strong support for Israel, according to a lobbyist who's worked with Oracle and has known Ellison for years.
