The bitcoin white paper was published 15 years ago by Satoshi Nakamoto. The paper outlined the blockchain technology that would underpin a decentralized payment system. The paper has made its mark, but intriguingly, nobody today has figured out who Satoshi Nakamoto is. What's in the white paperWhile bitcoin was officially launched in January 2009, in the 2008 paper Satoshi Nakamoto laid out the fundamental framework of the blockchain-based payment system. It wasn't written in the white paper, but the system is designed so that there are only 21 million bitcoins that will ever exist.

El Niño is the warm phase of the El Niño La Niña Southern Oscillation, or ENSO, that occurs across the tropical Pacific Ocean roughly every five years. El Niño generally causes drier conditions in Australia and Southeast Asia, and wetter and warmer conditions in the Americas. El Niño ("little boy" in Spanish) and La Niña ("little girl" in Spanish) are weather patterns in the Pacific Ocean that can impact weather conditions around the globe. NOAA said there is an 84% chance of an El Niño with a greater than moderate strength and a 56% chance of a strong El Niño developing by the winter. While these regions may see warmer temperatures, Schmidt was careful to point out that El Niño does not guarantee a heat record in any region.

Interpersonal connections are important in the workplace, but they "can't be the foundation of your professional relationship with your boss or your colleagues," Gavin says.

His doctor had prescribed him antidepressants, but he was starting to realize that his mental health issues needed additional care. They said that doing so could alleviate the struggles of others, and that it's important for law firm attorneys to understand they aren't alone. He also co-founded the Lawyers Depression Project, a support network of some 900 legal professionals around the world, an endeavor he has found meaningful. "I didn't feel like I could keep surviving in an environment that played into the worst aspects of my own mental health," Alexander said. For lawyer-specific inquiries, you can find confidential, live assistance through Lawyer Assistance Programs offered through your state bar, as well as through the Lawyers Depression Project.
