The big takeaway was that, on average, for each $20,000 spent on his unit, Ukraine could score one kill on Russian forces. According to The Atlantic's writers, the commander's slides said that a drone unit funded with $100 million could stay on the battlefield for a full year, carrying out 5,000 lethal strikes. A determined American journalist, let’s call her Gillian, is sleuthing away at a story about India’s nuclear weapons program. Though Gillian is based in London, when she finally gets to publish her story, the Indian government is bent on revenge. Is Washington going to stand idly by and meekly accept the possibility of an American journalist languishing in an Indian jail? The clue is in the inverted commas around “journalist.” To my mind, Julian Assange is in some ways recognizably a journalist. However, to many journalists Assange is not a proper “journalist,” and they can’t really see what his fate has to do with theirs.

Brendan McDermid | ReutersBlackRock estimates that the world's green energy transition will require $4 trillion annually by the mid-2030s, calling for more public-private partnerships, especially in Asia-Pacific. The forecast comes from BlackRock's latest "Investment Institute Transition Scenario," which analyzes how the low-carbon transition is most likely to play out and its potential impact on portfolios. The $4 trillion figure is double previous expectations of $2 trillion annually, and will require increases in both public and private sector capital, according to Michael Dennis, head of APAC Alternatives Strategy & Capital Markets at BlackRock. Last year, $1.8 trillion was invested into projects related to the energy transition, up from $33 billion in 2004 with about $19 trillion invested to date, according to data compiled by BlackRock.
