The bull’s-eye barcode introduced in Woodland and Silver’s 1949 patent. Despite being the first barcode to be officially adopted by an industry, the multicolored design of the Kartrak symbol is now just a footnote in history. The seven barcode symbol finalists displayed in the official internal reports of the symbol selection committee. The bull’s-eye barcode, after all, was the original barcode symbol, and RCA was a powerful company that had invested significant resources in developing the technology. RCA’s main competitor was a latecomer to the battle for barcode dominance: the IBM symbol invented in the early 1970s by George Laurier.

London CNN —The 20th annual installment of Frieze — London’s biggest and most influential art fair — has officially begun. Courtesy of Public GalleryLondon artist Adam Farah-Saad’s first solo exhibition presented by Public Gallery featured a large reworked steel drinking fountain similar to those seen at children’s parks or playgrounds. This version would probably prove more popular with those under 18, too, since it exclusively pumps out KA Black Grape Soda instead of H2O. Placed 20 inches away is a rotating electric fan causing the pages of the pad to flutter between drawings.

So, we decided to throw what we called a “vodka vault party” to encourage people to sample vodka on the terraces. We hired a fabulous bartender and offered the guests vodka tastings from brands such as Anestasia, Barr Hill and Purity. We also hired a DJ, and by the end of the evening, everyone was dancing in their faux fur. The penthouses sold a few months later. One sold in August 2016 for $1.625 million, and the other in September 2016 for $2.999 million.
