Williams has been nominated a staggering 54 times — 49 for original score and five for original song, making him the most nominated living person. MORE 2024 OSCAR FACTS AND FIGURESThe best actor category includes three first-time Oscar nominees: Domingo, Jeffrey Wright and Cillian Murphy. Read previewJodie Foster recently called Gen Z "annoying" in the workplace, causing a stir on social media. Gen Z has gained a bad reputation as workersSome X users came to the defense of Gen Z, saying their young colleagues are very productive. But many agreed with Foster's comments about the generation, arguing the Gen Z workers they know lack work ethic and discipline, yet expect a lot. Gen Z has long been depicted as lazy and ill-equipped to do their jobs. In referring to Gen Z as "annoying" in the workplace, Foster has aligned herself with the many critics of the generation in the workforce.

PHOENIX (AP) — Chris Paul's return to Phoenix ended in the second quarter on Wednesday night after the 12-time All-Star was ejected by his old nemesis: referee Scott Foster. The Golden State Warriors guard and Foster have a long, acrimonious history, with the point guard complaining about Foster's officiating for nearly a decade. Now Paul says that a years-old issue that involves his son is at least part of the reason for the friction. Foster walked away but Paul kept yelling and the referee quickly turned and gave the point guard another technical, which caused the ejection. Everybody gets frustrated out there, but that’s up to the official.”Warriors team personnel had to get between Paul and Foster before the guard left the court.

While many experts don't see inflation getting back to normal just yet, it could in a year or two. Consumer price inflation has been mostly slowing this year. Some experts see inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index being around 2% — the Fed's target year-over-year rate of price growth — by some time in 2024. Advertisement"We foresee headline and core CPI inflation around 2.2% y/y in Q4 2024," Daco said in his commentary. Goldman Sachs forecasts that measure is expected to cool off and see a 2.4% year-over-year increase in December 2024.

Oct 29 (Reuters) - New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins praised the All Blacks for their resilience and determination despite seeing Ian Foster's side slip to a narrow defeat against South Africa in the final of the Rugby World Cup in Paris on Saturday. "It's been incredible to see the team bounce back from that tough opening game against France and set the tournament alight. "New Zealand looks forward to welcoming the team home and celebrating their achievements." The All Blacks reached the final to defy lowly pre-tournament expectations, after a first-ever home series loss to Ireland and defeats against South Africa and Argentina in the Rugby Championship last year. "It's been an incredible seven weeks of rugby and the team has done New Zealand proud.

Hot on the heels of a record test loss to world champions South Africa in their final warm-up, the All Blacks lost a perfect record in World Cup pool phase matches that went back to the first tournament in 1987. "Stats are stats and I understand all that, but in the past we've won all the pool games but not necessarily won the tournament, the goal is to win a tournament," Foster told reporters. "But we're not down in the sheds, we're just frustrated that we lost a game. "South Africa lost in 2019 the first game against us and went on to win the competition," he said. To win that we need to win the next three, and the way you do that is focus on the next one.

The All Blacks, beaten for the first time in 32 World Cup pool games, had two Mark Telea tries and a sole penalty by Richie Mo'unga to show for themselves. "We felt there was a lot of pressure in the first half, it took, us time to relax and they scored quickly and easily. Sixteen years after losing their opening World Cup game as hosts against Argentina, France rose to the occasion, beating the All Blacks for the second time in a row. New Zealand were on the brink of the line again and surprisingly opted for the kick when France were penalised. France started the second half with a more playful mindset but were punished right away for their defensive nonchalance.

Though the showdown unnerved investors and prompted threats of a second U.S. debt downgrade in a little over a decade, proposals to abolish the debt ceiling have gained little traction in Congress in recent years. But Democrats did not try to abolish the debt ceiling when they controlled the White House and both chambers of Congress in 2021 and 2022. 'OUTLIVED ITS USEFULNESS'Some budget hawks who previously supported the debt ceiling now argue that the growing dysfunction in Washington has made the risk of default too great. Absent those reforms, many budget experts say the debt ceiling is the only way to force some sort of fiscal restraint. "I would never just drop the debt ceiling and do nothing else in its stead.

WASHINGTON, March 9 (Reuters) - A dwarf elephant the size of a Shetland pony once roamed the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. They were examples of the "island effect," a rule in evolutionary biology describing how large-bodied species tend to downsize on islands while small-bodied species upsize. Extinction risk was seen highest among species that underwent more extreme body size shifts compared to mainland relatives. But small-bodied species, because there is a decreased risk from predators on islands, are emancipated from evolutionary constraints on their size. It once was home to a dwarf elephant relative, giant rats and a giant stork, as well as a dwarf human species - Homo floresiensis, nicknamed the "Hobbit," standing just 3-1/2 feet tall (106 cm) tall.
Dec 27 (Reuters) - New Zealand Rugby (NZR) must tread carefully in deciding whether to stick or twist with All Blacks boss Ian Foster after the World Cup as announcing a successor before the tournament would cause distractions, former coach Steve Hansen said. "Basically I think he should be told, then leave it at that until such time as the World Cup is over and then announce it." Hansen, who led the All Blacks to World Cup glory in 2015, said naming a successor to Foster while he is trying to guide the team to the title in France would create problems. "You don't want someone distracting, because he's ... all excited and starts having conversations that aren't necessarily until after the World Cup," he said. "The ironic thing is that if they win the World Cup, what do they do with Ian Foster if they've already appointed someone?
"Six years is a pretty long time," Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia told Insider at the Capitol earlier this month. "I'm not for term limits," House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer told Insider during a briefing with reporters at the end of November. "I'm not taking a position on any single rules proposal that is before the House Democratic Caucus," he said. Another prominent young lawmaker — 33-year-old Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York — has also been vocal in her criticism of the system. "Whatever the mechanism is, we need to have more opportunities for people to bring their leadership to bear in different places," she told Insider.
The hidden side effect of overturning Roe v. Wade

Which means that, to a large extent, we won't know how the court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade is actually the health and wellbeing of women and children. We could maybe look at all pregnancy-related emergency department visits, or look at changes in miscarriage and abortion numbers before and after. But even in the days of Roe, some states — including California — refused to provide abortion data to the CDC. Abortion data, like abortions themselves, have largely been subjected to a political debate over rights, at the expense of actual knowledge. They need numbers, they need facts, they need stories."
