CNN —English Premier League (EPL) referee David Coote has been suspended pending investigation after a video went viral on social media appearing to show him making negative comments about Liverpool and the club’s former manager Jurgen Klopp. The video, which has not been verified by CNN, was posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday. Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp (right) has previously criticized Coote (center). The former Liverpool captain will join the Saudi Pro League after Al -Ettifaq paid a fee estimated at 13 million pounds ($16.77 million), according to reports. "It's hard to put these last 12 years into words and it's even harder to say goodbye," the 33-year-old wrote on his Instagram account. On Thursday, the BBC reported that Liverpool had agreed to Henderson joining Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq in a £12 million ($15.4 million) transfer. Liverpool and Al-Ettifaq did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment on Henderson’s widely reported impending transfer. Except Henderson’s transfer has attracted more scrutiny than those other players who have moved to Saudi Arabia.
