Brad Holmes had been the Detroit Lions general manager for just a couple of weeks when he made the move that determined whether he would succeed at his new job—or set a woebegone franchise back even further. Holmes’s counterintuitive idea to turn around the team began with trading away the team’s most valuable player. But the deal in 2021 that gave up quarterback Matthew Stafford didn’t send the Lions into the type of painstaking rebuild that can take years, if it ever works at all. It actually allowed them to short-circuit that process and become a Super Bowl contender faster than anyone imagined.

DETROIT (AP) — Ford Motor Co. said Monday that it's pausing construction of a $3.5 billion electric vehicle battery plant in Michigan until it is confident it can run the factory competitively. The move comes as the company is in the midst of national contract talks with the United Auto Workers union, which wants to represent workers at battery factories and win them top wages. In February, Ford announced plans to build the plant in Marshall, Michigan, employing about 2,500 workers to make lower-cost batteries for a variety of new and existing vehicles. But Ford spokesman TR Reid confirmed Monday that plant construction has been paused and spending has been limited on it. Earlier this year Virginia dropped out of the race for the same Ford plant after Republican Gov.

“The customer may experience some dissatisfaction or be discouraged if they are unable to easily access the seatbelt… in its stowed position. The recall involves only the five-door version of the Bronco. But in this case the problem only came up during a standard examination of the Bronco by NHTSA. “Ford is not aware of any customer warranty or field reports of seatbelt… accessibility concerns,” said the agency’s notice. Ford is aware of one case in which the wheel came off, although fortunately no one was injured in that case.
