Voting in Katmai National Park's famed Fat Bear Week was underway Wednesday after a bear killed one of this year's competitors and delayed the bracket reveal by a day. Voting takes place over the course of seven days, culminating in Fat Bear Tuesday, when one bear is crowned the fattest of the season. The winner will then try to beat Bear #128, also known as Grazer, a mother bear who holds last year's Fat Bear title. The injured cub later died and the surviving cub competed in Fat Bear Junior 2024, according to the park service. In another round one face-off, Bear #903, a smaller male and another Fat Bear Week newbie, will meet Bear #909, the mother of the junior contest's winner.

In a multiyear partnership, QVC has acquired the exclusive broadcast rights of USA Pickleball, the national governing body of the sport. While it was an asset to Biden in polling against Trump, it appears to be a much bigger advantage for Harris. And in this new NBC poll, Harris’ advantage was just under 20 points. It’s obvious at this point that Trump will win men by close to double digits, ditto with Harris among women. But many voters have seen "Vice President Kamala Harris" as a fresher candidate, including those who previously viewed Trump as a better steward of the economy. That would spell doom for Democrats' Senate majority.

CNN —Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson was unanimously voted as the 2024 WNBA Most Valuable Player after a historic season, the league announced on Sunday. It is Wilson’s third WNBA MVP award, having won it in 2020 and 2022. She became the first player to lead the WNBA in total points, rebounds and blocks in a season. Wilson’s excellent personal season was a big reason for the Aces reaching fourth in the WNBA standings and reaching the playoffs.
