Former President Donald Trump and his allies have been pushing state lawmakers to switch to a winner-take-all system, in which the presidential candidate who carries the state receives all five of its electoral votes. Currently, three of the state’s votes are awarded to the candidate who wins each of its three congressional districts. "Based on the lack of 33 votes, I have no plans to call a special session on this issue prior to the 2024 election.

LONDON — The investment group run by U.S. billionaire Dan Friedkin on Monday agreed to buy Everton F.C., potentially ending years of uncertainty for the struggling English Premier League soccer club. The deal is subject to subject to regulatory approval from the EPL, the Football Association, and Britain’s Financial Conduct Authority.
