For the last three weeks, President Donald Trump has attempted to overturn the 2020 presidential race and Democrats have attempted to characterize his efforts as a sideshow. For the last three weeks, President Donald Trump has attempted to overturn the 2020 presidential election. They've attempted to downplay it as a sideshow that will ultimately fail in its goal of changing the election outcome. Biden has thrown himself into his unofficial transition process, meeting with public health advisers and rolling out cabinet and staff appointees. But even as Trump attempted to take credit for doing what he said was "in the best interest of our Country," the president continued to contest the election results.

He would go on to release 10 more albums, according to his website"I've known Hal Ketchum since 1985, when I first booked him at Gruene Hall," Ketchum's longtime friend and personal manager Tracie Ferguson told CNN. Yellen, 74, brings Biden decades of economic policy experience and is respected by Congress, international finance officials, progressives and business interests alike. The post will present a host of new challenges for Yellen, whose policymaking experience in the past 20 years has largely centered on monetary - rather than fiscal - policy. Republican President Donald Trump declined to renew her term and replaced her with current Fed Chair Jerome Powell in 2018. FISCAL POLICY LEVERAt Treasury, Yellen would have a major role in influencing U.S. fiscal and tax policy, tools she did not have at the Fed. Jen Psaki, an adviser to the Biden campaign tweeted that economic team members would be announced next week.

The 2020 presidential election wasn’t really that close. He’s ahead by 81,000 votes in Pennsylvania (nearly twice Trump’s 44,000-vote win there four years ago). And he’s ahead by more than 20,000 votes in Wisconsin (almost the same as Trump’s 23,000-vote victory there in 2016). The 2020 presidential race looked close the 12 hours after the first polling places closed on Election Night. But nearly three weeks later — with almost all the votes counted — it’s now safe to say the Biden-vs.-Trump contest wasn’t that close.

New York (CNN Business) Janet Yellen checks all the boxes in President-elect Joe Biden's quest to find a Treasury secretary who won't spook Wall Street, alienate progressives or forget about Main Street's plight. But at Treasury, Yellen could quarterback fiscal policy at a time when it's the only game in town. Roger Ferguson, another leading Treasury pick and a former top Fed official, would make history as the nation's first Black Treasury secretary. And in her final years at the Fed, Yellen did not stand in the way of tweaks to make financial regulations less burdensome. At the Fed, Yellen prided herself on staying above the political fray and sticking to the economic arguments.

President-elect Joe Biden has chosen former Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen as Treasury secretary, a historic decision that could result in the nation's first woman to lead the department, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing people familiar with the matter. A graduate of Brown and Yale universities, Yellen was also the first woman to serve as Fed chair after her Senate confirmation in 2014. Biden's team had also been eyeing Fed Governor Lael Brainard and former Fed Vice Chair Roger Ferguson for the job, according to people familiar with the transition team's thinking. Before becoming Fed chair, Yellen was at the helm of the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank and was the 18th chair of the Council of Economic Advisers under the Clinton administration. Steven Mnuchin, President Donald Trump's Treasury secretary, has for months struggled to broker another stimulus bill agreeable to House Democrats and Senate Republicans.

"Yellen talked a lot about higher bank capital levels early in the [financial] crisis, but I think she's a pretty benign outcome for the banking sector. For me that was the real risk of that Treasury secretary appointment was you could get someone that was hawkish on the banking sector," said Knapp. President-elect Joe Biden's choice of Janet Yellen as Treasury Secretary was seen as a win for markets, since the former Federal Reserve chair should focus on fixing the economy rather than the progressive Democratic agenda feared by some investors. Strategists expect the Treasury and Fed to work collaboratively, and some even suggest Yellen could be too cozy with her former Fed colleagues. You were going to end up with complicity between the Fed and Treasury," said Knapp.

“Between the World & Me,” is something altogether different, both old and new, a combination of film and theater that could only work on TV. Coates may not have known these specific events would happen, but the world continues to live down to his expectations. “Between the World and Me” has tapped into something that falls in between the two genres, a work all its own, a pandemic-influenced theatrical TV performance that is neither movie nor limited series nor show. It is, as HBO terms it, a special, in every sense of the word. Special enough that HBO is working to make sure it reaches as wide an audience as possible, available to stream on HBO’s website.

A career economist and Federal Reserve governor she has been vocal about financial inclusion and the risks of climate change. In the end, it may be a Republican-dominated Senate that gets the final say over who oversees the national finances. Economic smarts, a social conscience and political pragmatism would make Brainard a solid choice either way.

The beleaguered coach is under pressure following successive defeats to Arsenal and Istanbul Basaksehir, with a crucial Premier League clash against Everton coming up on Saturday. At Friday afternoon's virtual press conference, Solskjaer was asked whether he still remained confident of being able to deliver success to Manchester United. While Solskjaer might still believe in his abilities to take Manchester United back to the top, the list of other people who do appears to be getting shorter with each passing game. This, after all, is a side that last season reached the FA Cup and Europa League semifinals and finished third in the Premier League ahead of Chelsea and Leicester.
