Morgan Stanley has revealed a bullish call on Japanese stocks for 2024. China and emerging markets However, Morgan Stanley remains cautious on other Asian markets going into the first half of 2024. The bank's strategists lowered their target for the MSCI Emerging Markets Index to 1,000, implying a modest 4% upside from current levels. They cited slowing global growth, higher interest rates, and currency weakness versus the U.S. dollar as headwinds for emerging markets. Morgan Stanley expects strong nominal GDP growth above 11% annually in 2024 and 2025 thanks to "young demographic and geopolitical alignment," which will drive earnings higher.

Around 8,700 Ford workers Wednesday evening walked off the job at the automaker's Kentucky truck plant — its largest and most profitable globally — after the UAW said Ford refused further concessions in contract bargaining. "It's time for a fair contract at Ford and the rest of the Big Three," he added. Ford was apparently caught off guard by the strike at its Kentucky plant, which generates $25 billion in annual revenue, roughly a sixth of the company's global automotive revenue. After the September meeting pause last week, the target range for the fed funds rate remained at 5.25% to 5.50%. First, I don't know a soul besides me who agrees with that 20-year versus fed funds rate yield prognosis. They think the fed funds rate will come down or the 20-year yield is already extended. Second, I don't know anyone else who believes the economy is so strong that the Fed is correct to keep on an anti-inflation course. I don't think so.

He's offering to fork out $150,000 for scientist Peter Hotez to debate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on the topic of vaccines. "This is a debate that you cannot walk away from," Ackman tweeted at Hotez. Billionaire investor Bill Ackman, who's spent a good chunk of the weekend putting his weight — and his money — behind the prospect of a Joe Rogan-hosted vaccine debate, wants you to know he's not an anti-vaxxer or an advocate for conspiracy theories. "If you are truly interested in saving lives, you need to further the public's understanding of the truth about vaccines," Ackman added. Every day we wait, thousands more will die," Ackman tweeted at the time.
