CNN —Mills Lane, the third man in the ring for more than 100 championship boxing matches, has died, according to officials in Nevada. “The Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame mourns the passing of great referee Mills Lane,” officials said in announcing Lane’s death. Lane was also the star of “Judge Mills Lane” from 1998-2002, appearing in more than 700 episodes, according to the Internet Movie Database. “I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mills Lane today. According to the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Lane took up boxing after he enlisted in the Marines in 1956.
Boxing legends and former rivals Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield are teaming up to launch a line of cannabis-infused edibles called "Holy Ears." The former opponents are reuniting under the newly formed cannabis company Carma Holdings, which also houses Tyson 2.0, Tyson's existing cannabis company. CNN —The Edmonton Oilers have confirmed that forward Evander Kane will be out for 3-4 months after sustaining deep cuts on his wrist in Tuesday night’s 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning. While on the deck, Tampa Bay forward Pat Maroon accidentally skated over Kane’s wrist and he immediately went to the bench for assistance before eventually being transported to the hospital where he had an operation. Kane took to social media to say that he was “on the mend” following a procedure on his wrist. Kane wrote on Twitter, “Thank you all for the kind wishes and prayers from over the past several hours. You never wish that upon any player in the League.”After being released by the San Jose Sharks last season, Kane joined the Edmonton Oilers on a four-year deal worth $20.5 million.
