The company had flagged in November that it expects roughly half its revenue to decline in the first quarter, weighed down by weak demand in its wireless carrier and enterprise markets. The company forecast first-quarter adjusted earnings per share of 23 cents, plus or minus 5 cents, compared with estimates of 40 cents per share, according to LSEG data. The company reported fourth-quarter revenue of $1.43 billion, beating estimates of $1.42 billion, on the back of rapid adoption of artificial intelligence.

"Extreme equipment is used on Russian warships," the complaint said, "in communications systems." "It was necessary to use a cover because the Russian company is blacklisted in the U.S.," one of the people familiar with the shipments said. The executive said he had never heard of Extreme or of DEMZ buying Extreme equipment for itself or on behalf of others. Like MMZ Avangard, United Shipbuilding has been listed as a "blocked" entity by the U.S. Treasury since July 2014.
