CNN —While Marvel fans are excited for the super-heroic teamup between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in this summer’s “Deadpool & Wolverine,” there is another character – of the four-legged variety – set to make her debut in the movie as well. “Her real name is Peggy, and she won the award for Britain’s Ugliest Dog,” Reynolds told Empire Magazine in an article published on Tuesday. “It was one of those things where you just keep listening to the movie, and Dogpool became a staple.”According to BBC, Peggy won the unique title of Britain’s ugliest dog in January of 2023. Equipped with her very own “Dogpool” Instagram page, Peggy also appeared in a still from the new movie on Reynolds’ own Instagram in December of last year. “It’s love at first sight,” he told Empire of the bond between his character Deadpool and the pup.

Kumail Nanjiani, star of Marvel’s “Eternals,” recently defended directors Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino’s right to criticize Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor, who played Kingo in the 2021 Marvel film, told Esquire in an interview this week he believes Tarantino and Scorsese’s long-standing contribution to the film industry is enough to justify their right. “I obviously love the movies Tarantino makes or Scorsese makes, and I may disagree with Scorsese’s opinion on superhero movies, but I mean, who else has earned the right to have an opinion? If Scorsese hasn’t earned the right to have an opinion on movies, then none of us should have an opinion on movies,” Nanjiani said in the interview. “If the only gatekeepers to movie stardom came from Tarantino and Scorsese, I would never have had the opportunity to lead a $400 million plus movie,” Liu tweeted.
James Cameron says that "The Way of Water" is successful enough to make the next three "Avatar" movies. He'd previously suggested the fate of "Avatar" 4 and 5 relied on the box office of "The Way of Water." Director James Cameron says it's enough to guarantee those planned third, fourth, and fifth installments get made and released. Cameron had previously said that "Avatar 3" was already filmed and pretty much guaranteed to be released. Cameron has said that he would be open to another filmmaker directing the fourth and fifth movies.
Over the last 13 years since "Avatar" was released, Cameron has conceived of four sequels, which will be released in 2022, 2024, 2026, and 2028, respectively. "Avatar: The Way of Water." The first of the sequels, "Avatar: The Way of Water," is now in theaters. The third "Avatar" movie has already been shot, but Cameron recently told Empire Magazine that he's open to another director making the fourth and fifth movies. If there's one thing the last nearly three decades has taught moviegoers, it's to never underestimate James Cameron.
"Andor" is the best-reviewed "Star Wars" live-action series yet, and feels more gritty than previous shows. "Fiona's voice was over all of us," Gough told Empire, referring to actress Fiona Shaw's monologue in the episode. "Andor" could be described as a "gritty" "Star Wars" series. It's received glowing reviews from critics, with the first season receiving a 96% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, the best of any of Disney+'s live-action "Star Wars" series. But the three-episode premiere lagged behind other "Star Wars" debuts in viewership, according to Nielsen data.
But he's open to training somebody to make future installments, Cameron told The Hollywood Reporter. But he recognizes that the "Avatar" movies are a massive commitment and that he might have to pass the torch. "Obviously, I'm not going to be able to make 'Avatar' movies indefinitely, the amount of energy required," Cameron told THR. "We'll probably finish movie three regardless because it's all shot," Cameron told THR. "You have to be the third or fourth highest-grossing film in history," Cameron told GQ.
James Cameron told an executive who wanted "Avatar" to be shorter to "get the fuck out of my office." "I think this movie is going to make all the fucking money," Cameron said he told the exec. "Avatar" was 162 minutes long and is the highest-grossing movie ever. His "Titanic" was the highest-grossing movie ever for 12 years, until his own "Avatar" topped it in 2009. "I don't want anybody whining about length when they sit and binge-watch [television] for eight hours," Cameron told Empire.
New York CNN Business —“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” had the major challenge of following “Black Panther,” one of the biggest blockbusters ever, and had to do so without star Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in 2020. Despite all of the challenges, “Wakanda Forever” notched a sizable box office opening this weekend. As for its critical reception, “Wakanda Forever” notched an 84% score on review site Rotten Tomatoes. “‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ faced an inordinate degree of difficulty, addressing the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman,” Brian Lowry, CNN’s media critic, wrote in his review. The debut of “Wakanda Forever” will unlikely impact Disney’s stock since investors remain heavily focused on the company’s streaming endeavors.

And [director] Ryan [Coogler] poured that into the story.”Boseman’s death came as a shock to many “Black Panther” fans as he had not gone public with his illness.
