RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — Former UFC champion Francis Ngannou shockingly went the distance in his boxing debut early Sunday morning, even knocking down reigning WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury at one point, but Fury remained undefeated after winning a split decision. Two judges gave Fury the fight by scores of 96-93 and 95-94, and the other judge favored Ngannou 95-94. Good thing for Fury, because Ngannou showed early in the scheduled 10-round fight that he wasn't going anywhere. Ngannou staggered Fury early in the fourth, but Fury stayed on his feet and the rest of the round was fairly even after that. CNN —Rapper Nashawn Breedlove, best known for appearing in a rap battle against Eminem in the 2002 movie “8 Mile,” has died at age 46. His mother, Patricia Breedlove, confirmed his death in a post on Facebook published Tuesday. “It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of my beloved son Nashawn Breedlove’s passing. Many of you knew him by his alias’ Lotto, ox’, a name that echoed his resilience and determination,” she wrote. “Nashawn was a rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor.

Rihanna’s 2023 halftime performance became the most-watched halftime show of all time. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar headlined Super Bowl LVI’s halftime show in 2022. The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced Sunday that Usher would lead the halftime festivities from Allegiant Stadium on Feb. 11. “It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list,” Usher said in a statement. Usher is expected to wrap up his Las Vegas residency in early December before he makes his Super Bowl halftime appearance a couple months later. Rapper Eminem has demanded Vivek Ramaswamy stop using his music on the campaign trail — and the Republican presidential candidate looks ready to let the issue go. In a cease-and-desist order sent to Ramaswamy's lawyer on Aug. 23, music publisher BMI said Eminem took issue with the use of his music during Ramaswamy's campaign events. In response, the Ramaswamy campaign signaled the GOP hopeful will not perform the song again. To the American people's chagrin, we will have to leave the rapping to the real slim shady," a spokesperson for the Ramaswamy campaign told NBC News. Many politicians have been sent similar cease-and-desist orders in past election cycles over their campaign song choices.
