But after visiting 17 countries, there's one little luxury I can't go without when flying: checking a bag. I find that my carry-on bag is practically tied to me while I'm in the airport, which can become annoying. Avoiding this anxiety-inducing exercise and not rushing to board is a little luxury worth the price of checking a bag. Opting for a large checked bag means I can pack everything I want to bring on my tripI can pack tons of different outfits in my checked bag. But if you ask me, checking a bag is a relatively easy way to have a better travel experience.

After my kids were born, my love for online grocery ordering grew even more. While I used to use a grocery delivery service nearly every week, I only use it in a pinch now. On top of that, there can be things like pick-up fees, service fees, delivery charges, and tips if you use a grocery delivery service. All of this means that I end up having to go to the grocery store anyway, usually stressed because I was counting on the grocery delivery service to save time. Using a grocery delivery service can save time and energy, but it also comes with added costs and, oftentimes, frustration.

Being the default parent often gets a bad rap. It's a lot of physical and mental work and can be stressful, and I often see people complaining about being the default parent. On a recent work trip to New York City, I had dinner with my boss. It was a far cry from what work dinners used to look like when I traveled. My first business trip was a sales conference in San Diego in 2009. For the next 10 years or so, every time I took a business trip, I reveled in all of the late-night activities. But when it comes to celebrating Mother's Day, there's just one thing I want, and it's not a bath bomb, candle, or picture frame. For Mother's Day, I really just want time by myself away from my girls. Mother's Day is about showing appreciation for everything moms do, but it's also a day meant for reflecting on motherhood.
