Russia, via a local proxy, is imposing a ban on public gatherings and strikes in occupied Ukraine. A decree published Sunday also announces that "military censorship" will be imposed on the internet. In a decree published Sunday, Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People's Republic, "imposed military censorship on mail, Internet communications and phone conversations," Russian state media reported. The decree also prohibits public gatherings that have not received prior approval from military authorities, according to Reuters. The order comes as Ukrainian and Russian forces clash along the borders of Donetsk, which Moscow formally (and illegally) annexed last year.

Drone footage shows the Ukrainian troops annihilating a unit of Wagner fighters in Soledar. The video shows soldiers — who the State Border Service of Ukraine identified as Wagner Group fighters — being monitored by a drone. The soldiers then come under fire from Ukrainian fighters using large-caliber machine guns, resulting in a number of injuries, according to the border force. In a Telegram post, the State Border Service of Ukraine described the events. "Although the enemy has concentrated its greatest forces in this direction, our troops – the Armed Forces of Ukraine, all defense and security forces – are defending the state."

Ukrainian intelligence said Thursday its agents had seized propaganda found inside Russian Orthodox churches. In a statement, Ukraine's SBU also said it found Russian passports and looted icons. It also released a photo of those agents that included a cat whose face was blurred. The SBU also claimed to have found documents indicating that Russian Orthodox priests were collaborating with the Russian government and its occupation authorities in Kherson. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused the Russian Orthodox Church of seeking to "weaken Ukraine from within" amid calls from some to ban the organization.
